So did napoli. Only reason people are sh*tting themselves is because you lose a few games in the PL then you trail behind. However, everybody should have known this. If the board have any ambition left, in January they need to upgrade 2 or 3 positions even if it means overspending.

The problem is investing rightly - Morata cost a lot. Bakayoko cost a lot. Leave it to the board to squander the wealth in crappy players.

Another thing that worries me with this team is our energy levels. It always looks like the opposition can run all day long, but we seem to hit a wall as soon as the 2nd half starts. It's been going on for a while now at the club, maybe most of these players just aren't built for the physicality of the league.

Well, it was a disappointing performance. Credits to Wolves for not giving up and pushing forward to grab 2 goals.

we made a lot of passes but nothing more than that. It's so hard to play and success without a striker, we didn't deserve to take any point today let's be honest.

The whole team was awful, RLC, Azpi and Rudiger were the positives.

Afraid to think about the game against City,

Its the manner we get defeated........the manner in actual play. We look without soul, no motivation at all. If we lose 20 games but at least put in an effort and fought hard and till the last sec then so be it. But we dont.....everyone look clueless. Mo´st of these players were champions 2 season ago.....we were flying the first 12 games......what the f**k happened? You cant possibly be content with us these past 8-9 games. Ok he does not have the players as some claim, then f**king figure something out till we do. Cuz like this we are done for.

Just checked and Hazard is currently at 0.5 goals a match and 0.33 assists a match.  Although he hasn't scored in the PL for around a couple of months now.  Not exactly top of the world form is it.

Just needs to go - he doesn't want to be here.

We started the second half with a sitter to Morata, he's just not quick enough to finish.

Sarriball revolves around Jorginho or in tonight's case - Cesc. It's not rocket science that if you shut that position down,  you essentially have no Sarriball. This has been evident in our losses, only my concern is that we don't seem to have a plan B. Regardless of how much Jorginho or Cesc are man-marked out of the game, we seem to continue trying to play the same system by looking at building through those players. Couple that with an out of form Haz, Alonso has been trash, and the fact that we have 2 strikers that would be lucky to warm the bench in any of the other top 6, it's no surprise that we're losing to Wolverhampton. We can only hope Sarri looks at making some drastic changes against City otherwise we could be in for a trouncing.

15 seconds to go, one last chance to get the ball forward - pass? it around out wide until the whistle. Nice.??

I thought that stretch surmised the game perfectly. Absolutely no desire or threat to put pressure on Wolves in the final third.

I cant say I’ve ever seen a team down a goal, with possession, in the final third and the whistle blows.

And the sad thing? I wasn’t surprised when it did blow. It’s what we were playing for.

That was really poor tonight.

Dont think we learned anything...A few players just arent up to standard and although it was good to see some changes the cover really isn't any better.

2nd half of the season will be harder going by the fixtures so this could be a long one.

Still think top 4, challenge in the Europa and get key player contracts signed is the objective.

Win on Saturday will change the mood.

 Giroud 32, Cesc 31, Pedro 31, Willian 30, Luiz 31, Cahill 32, Azpi 29, Alonso 28

No legs left in these fellas.  Any youngster will outrun any of them all day long.

Sarri system requires both physical and mental alertness, and half of our players are well past it, which was well on display in tonight's game.

I think we didn't play the football Sarri wants. Not sure why. When Jorg is on we spend much more time with the ball. To be fair that wasn't even where we lost today. We were sh*te around the box. No penetration and no chances.

Have no idea what is wrong with Alonso but he has been awful lately.

We spent more time on the ball until Spurs at which time they sat on Jorginho , played off him and thus exposed his defensive liabilities and his critical lack of pace. Critical because in possession he is the pivot, out of posession he is the screen for the defence. But the defence is as laborious and error prone, with Luiz in la-la land, Dave decidly average and Alonso falling over his incrediby slow feet. The answer has been to put Fabregas in Jorginho's position, because Sarri is only looking at the play with the ball. Out of possession Fabregas is every bit a liability as Jorginho is. Two games ina row now, and it looks like the penny has dropped with teh rest of the teams. What Sarri needs to learn, and bloody fast is that to compete in this league you have to have two games, one with the ball and more importantly one without. We have no clue how to play without the ball.

It started off high intensity pressing. We scored 3 against Arsenal and looked fantastic. But hang on, if we think about it closely we could and probably should have conceded five in the first half of that game. Have we improved defensively? Probably not, we have been very lucky until now with some criminal misses from our opponents. and teh inensity of of high press is a distance memory

Spot on. Add to this a bunch of aunt sallys behind Jorginho and/or Cesc and the problems become self evident

No backbone in the team.....no leader in the team when it’s a tough away night in the rain........no striker who scares the s**t out of the opposition defenders in the tunnel before we start......

Its plain there is a total lack of motivation and energy...........long season ahead.

Oh great, 4 months in and we're getting this sh*t about the new managed.

Im just saying what im seeing, he needs to adapt and quick, i really hope he does btw, want him to succeed so badly

Can anyone recommend a Chelsea Fan Forum which has Chelsea fans posting on it?

I'll stop moaning about the players as soon as their attitudes improve. Even Sarri has made a point about the attitude of the team being poor at times, and he's right. Maybe for once we should actually listen to the manager. Nobody can convince me that the team are giving their all like they were at the start of the season. The majority of them are playing lazy and constantly looking for teammates or the ref to help them out of a mess.

Really worrying. We now have City on Saturday and most definitely by Saturday evening will be in 5th place. No way are we beating City let alone getting a point while Arsenal who look really good play Huddersfield at home and they have a good set of fixtures coming up. Spurs are clicking into gear despite that loss against in an in-form Arsenal and also have a nice set of fixtures coming up. City and Liverpool have built up a huge lead over us now. The likely loss against City will have huge consequences. We messed up big time tonight. Hazard, the only world class player in this team has gone off the boil and we need him to get back to his best. He will do, but how long will it take? Alonso needs a rest too. Not sure what is going on with Emerson.

While I get this with Kante looking below average due to not playing his DM role, is he not meant to be a B2B player. A world class player can put in a better shift than he is doing in RCM. He looks bang average and he is currently the highest paid player at the club. Earning just under £300k p/w or around there. His performances are just not good enough. When you earn that amount you need to put in better performances than he is doing in CM. He has so much energy etc but looks so lost in this team. You don't earn that much to just simply give the excuse of he is not playing in his favoured position. But he seems to escape so much criticism every game. He has been really average when you put it into context this season. Just looks really ordinary. I don't think he was as bad tonight as some of the others but just concerned in regards to the consistency of his performances. If we were playing him CB or RB then I can understand. We are playing a DM/B2B player in a CM. He should be able to put in better performances than we are seeing.

Still frustrating that we did not get that penalty as that would have put the game out of sight. There was no contact with the ball and yet again, like Spurs we have had 2 penalties denied which should have gone in our favour and it has cost us big time. That is not making an excuse for the performance but we get that penalty and we are going home with 3 points tonight.

The strikers are a real concern and it is annoying that Arsenal have 2 top strikers who they faced no competition from other teams when buying them whilst we are stuck with 2 under-firing, strikers who look poor game after game. I reckon Sarri might go false no.9 with Hazard up front with Willian and Pedro next to him. Giroud will be tired chasing shadows all game and Morata, I doubt will start either.

Anyway, will give a shout out to Morgan Gibbs-White. Looks a real talent. 18 years old and put a top performance against us tonight.

Indeed. Backbone and bollocks are important and should be part of our transfer policy going forwards. The following should mean we will not sign a player:

1. Brightly coloured boots.

2. Curly hair.

3. Hair that has stripes shaved into it.

4. Any player that has been in a shampoo or mens grooming product commercial.

5. Tattoos - Not allowed except for a skull and cross bones or a bulldog on the forearm.

6. Defenders who can't defend but can pass.

7. Strikers who can't strike but can defend.

If the pass they above criteria we then apply the backbone and bollocks tests. Firstly,  an X-ray to ascertain if they have a backbone. And then a visual check from a medically qualified tea-lady to determine the size of bollocks they have and their resistance to shriviling. This is measured by the reaction of the bollocks to damp and cold and Delle Ali repeatedly calling them a w**ker while he sneaks in at the back post and kicks them in the bollocks.

If they pass the above we give them the Captaincy and look for 10 more made of the same stuff.

The second half was painful. We were out fought and at times Wolves bullied us.

we don’t have a natural leader and lack a physical presence. The same when we played Spuds.

people are highlighting individual players deficiencies but if a team wants to beat Chelsea they just have to out muscle us

This evening we were too pedestrian and communication between the players was poor.

people have said Cheek played well but he was absent in the second half, although he was not the only one

the fans who made the effort tonight deserved better
