To correct my earlier post, it was actually the morning after the Man City 'Tommy chants' match....

It's all a bit suspect!

To be fair Mod the reason this came up at all is the chants for TT.

I do agree that it seems like bullsh*t though.

Simon Jordan has certainly changed his view on Todd Boehly after he met and spoke to him in Qatar. Before then he was berating him for suggesting an all star game and being an American coming into English football etc, etc, so he's obviously impressed Simon as not just some know it all, arrogant yank.

It surprises me how in england the pundits seem to be much more outwardly aggressive about Boehly rather than middle eastern owners.

With Boehly it strays into the personal, he's American so he must be sh*t. Whereas with middle eastern owners it's, there's corruption but they will know what they are doing

Either release what he allegedly did or don't say anything at all, otherwise it makes you look a bit desperate! Possibly another embarressing thing tied to the club in such little time!

Once upon a time this would have been a Steve Atkins special - release an exclusive to the Telegraph with some dirt on the former manager to make the club look less foolish for sacking him.

But it can't be an Atkins special because he got the sack too!

It's strange. I find it more on social media among our own fans and rival fans. They seem to compare him to the Glazers simply because he's American. I would understand if he'd been in charge of the club for a decade, but he's been here for half a year and brought in his own people. He is also open to speaking which is something I like, as opposed to Roman who barely ever came out and spoke in the media.

He came out with the all star suggestion, in a public forum, as one of many ideas in how the PL could generate more revenue and was slated by every pundit as an idiot. But the idea has been floated multiple times over the years, once by Lukaku! Just frustrating.

I want him to be open and chat, but since that incident he's been extremely quiet.

He got slated as well for his idea of a relegation play off. Something that literally happens in a few leagues around Europe.

No idea why he got slated as much as he did for that.

Well our own fans are hostile towards him for no reason so it's unsurprising the pundits are too.

Man, Todd could pull a baby out a burning building and this forum would still criticize.

We’ve been through a level of disruption and change probably greater than any other club in the modern era. New owners have come in and continued to back the club, something that is bigger than any one person. They’ve made some mistakes in what is a very political (old guard) football environment, but am sure they are learning quick.

Todd was always interim in the capacity he took on. Let’s be honest, a billionaire with numerous interests isn’t going to spend his/her time running a company with annual revenue of £500M - small fish.

That said, the football results and performances have been poor. We should all expect better - I tell myself every game to be patient (and it’s a test).

Todd and team are pretty quiet publicly, so we’re left with the English press and social media to fill in the blanks. Sometimes less is more, so be mindful of the quiet ones!

Well he was anything but pretty quiet last year so let's hope he has learned his lesson from the public gaffes.

Hopefully they don't completely destroy the soul of this club in record time.

I'd be fascinated to see how we'd react if we were sold to buyers who were actually like the Glazers.

To be fair that damn upstart yank should know his place, how dare he come into football and actually offer an opinion....disgraceful...

Americans and money you can criticize. No one really takes it negatively or spin it to anything. We feel we know Americans.

Middle Eastern people are relatively unknown. You can't criticize them specifically from other than human rights violations in their countries. Western people can't relate to them.

And City's done amazing under their ownership. Glazers are a running joke.

I think Boehly will get a lot of credit afterwards. He's been very hands on. He is also very clear worded and easy to understand.

Especially as we have fallen foul of it ourselves

Don't need to go outside the country, mate, we've got promotion play offs in the championship for the third team. If that's not ridiculous, how is it the idea of relegation play offs?

The team that finished fourth from the bottom originally went into the playoffs alongside third ,fourth and fifth teams from the then second division.

To be honest, I don't know how any football/sports manager at the highest level can get a hold of a wife at all. They must be absolutely exhausting, always kinda grumpy with results and/or totally absent thinking about either the previous or the next match. It surely can't be easy for their relatives as even when they hit their highest moment winning trophies, you just know you gotta keep up/improve next season or you're fired.

No millionaires have trouble finding women or trophy wives.

and there's a lot more jobs that are " exhausting " but with a lot less pay than being a manager who walks away with millions when he is sacked..

It's convenient no doubt, but I dunno if Simon Jordan is working on behalf of the club ?

Yes, we ended up playing Boro from Div 2 after finishing 4th bottom in div 1 .

Played Blackburn home and away to reach to reach two leg final.

I think we were the only 1st div side relegated that way ??

They'll be play-off for the last CL spot between 4th to 7th spot eventually I reckon.

There's no need, since they've got that new coefficient rule that will be implemented

Correct. Charlton year before avoided relegation by beating Leeds.

picking Bohley instead of Saudi Media Group will forever taunt us

He simply just destroyed what Roman build for us for the last 20 years in just 6 months

he turned a team that everyone fears in Europe into a laughingstock
