May 6, 20197 yr Crazy form table since end of Feb. Shows we are where we should be. Somehow the best of the rest. (Tottenhams run in lol) Edited May 6, 20197 yr by bisright1
May 6, 20197 yr That Spurs form is horrendous. Ignorance on their part thinking they could sustain levels with no signings. Granted they’ve had a lot of injuries this season but they’ve not helped themselves either. Cautionary tale for us next season with the transfer ban looming over us.

In fact looking at our form against the top 6, if anything, we have given them a chance with our poor results against them. That was my point........

May 6, 20197 yr People saying we only got top four because of the others poor form and continue to slag off Sarri, really? So by that logic we only one the league under conte because the others had poor form and we had no European football? Such nonsensical garbage!!!!

I think the injuries are a consequence of their lack of signings though. If they had brought in one or two good players, maybe with more rest Kane doesn't get hurt. All hypothetical of course, but it could have played a part. Silly of them to think they wouldn't need to bolster their squad at all. It's not like they have a super promising youth player, like we have in CHO, that they were planning on working in (Winks maybe? Don't think he's on CHO's level though).

May 7, 20197 yr Sarri should be given credit for managing the squad fitness the only criticism is overplaying Kante and perhaps Dave. Every other outfield player has Ben carefully managed. Over a lo g season that’s important. The impact of overwork on the spurs squad will impact some of their players longer term not just in this season.

Kante and Azpi played almost the exact number of games last season so if Kante tells Sarri he is fine I can understand him taking his word for it. Though not next season!
May 7, 20197 yr Happy to have gotten top 4, and possibly 3rd. It kinda shows how hard the league is now, no game is a given anymore. Except maybe Huddersfield at home. Next year we should be much better, hopefully!!!

Shockingly enough, despite losing six consecutive away games, Tottenham still have the third-best away record in the league!
May 7, 20197 yr Job done, top 4. Congrats to the playing & coaching staff as for many weeks after Christmas it seemed like that was an impossible feat to achieve. And finally fairplay to Sarri, if he can win the EL and Vermin lose today he could end up having a better season than Klopp.

Lets hope for some final magic to lift another piece of silverware.

May 8, 20197 yr That point against United a week ago looked a really good one, we'd be out of it for show had we lost that day. Overall, we have done just enough, everyone deserve credit. It's that kind of a season, we paid our price for playing with a system, but done just enough to get there. Of course, couldn't have done it with Arsenal, United and Spurs f* up

It is always the case if you are above a team in the league table at the end of the season then the teams below you ballsed it up at some point, If it wasnt the case then every team would tie on 57 odd points...

Those who love a bit of Sarri-ball and have always been fully behind him, will say he's done great to get us top 4 (maybe third). Those who don't rate Sarri quite so highly will point to the weak state of Arsenal, United and even lately, Spurs and make the obvious observation that had they been as good as they were in other seasons, we would have finished 6th. I guess there's a bit of truth in both. I'm still not convinced by Sarri but will credit him for getting us CL football next season and still possibly a trophy. For me, that means he has earnt himself at least another season to try and build on the improvement. But let's not kid ourselves, the other three have been poor - a LOT poorer than they have been in previous seasons, especially United and we are a million miles away from City and Liverpool which is concerning.

Because anytime a team in the top 6 lose to teams in the bottom half it's a slip up. The fact that Spurs, Arsenal manage to lose 2-3 games in a row means they bottled up, even their fans would admit it. It's not like we are on a winning streak in the last 5 games, we did an average job and other teams bottled up helped us to secure the Cl Spot. Sometime you get a break from other teams, let's not go over board about the season we had.

By the same token I can say we only got ran close by Arsenal and United because both had brief runs of title winning form. We were all pretty inconsistent which is why we were all challenging for top four instead of the title in the first place, but we have been better than both over the season there's no doubt about that. As is often the case the truth will lay between two differing opinions, I am not 100% convinced of Sarri but he has outperformed a lot of the "experts" who had us out of the top 4 during the start of season predictions, and yes the other 3 have fallen at the last but the flip side is you could say they outperformed in that January spell and that we managed to maintain levels... (just a devils advocate statement) Yes everyone is a million miles from the top 2 but I think the general approach taken this season is the right way to go as proven by the style of football those 2 play (whether Sarri is the right man to do it is a different question) In general the standard of the league is at it highest I can remember very few whipping boys and even the relegated teams can put up a fight,
