Be happy going in 0-0 but we have escaped a couple of times, but we've offered nothing going forward...need to sort this out 2nd half..

Pretty much as expected, Liverpool dominating, we're just trying to stay in it. Not sure if we can do that for 90 minutes, I can't see us keeping a cleansheet all game, we'll have to bring on a striker and move Hazard to the left at some point.

That's probably some of the plan.. the false 9 keeps Hazard on the pitch, and lets Willian wear down the wing.

Plus Liverpool always tire against us that high energy press takes its toll 

I thought that was a poor half from us, they probably should be 2-0 up with Salah's and Mane's chances. We have been very sloppy and have nothing in attack. We are getting forward well, but as soon as we get close to their box, we have no options in the box to score. We are basically relying on a worldie or mistake from Liverpool at the moment.

Impossible to be effective in the final third I really hope someone blasts a goal from long range or we somehow get a penalty...

We can't blame the players, it's clearly Sarri's demands. He wants us to keep Liverpool strong and defend with the whole team.

Liverpool will try to push higher and they have guns on the bench, we survived in the first half, but I believe we can make it. We just need a striker who will sit on Van Dijk and Matip, Hazard must have his freedom.

I got a good feeling of Higuain in this game, I don't know why. We have to try press them more on their half and believe until the end!

CHO struggling in this big game, and showing his inexperience. Maybe better suited for Higuain with Hazard moving back to wing.

RLC has been too selfish in a couple of situations: a quick pass to Hazard could have created a goal change.

Showing his inexperience I'd say. Looks a little overawed by the occasion. I reckon he will be subbed early in the second half

tbf CHO loves to send in a cross but there isn't no one there to receive it - he has to create vs 2 or 3 dippers - bring in either Giroud or Higuaín & you will see him profit

He's annoyed me today. Looks so strong and just makes the wrong decision sometimes. Hazard is asking to be threaded through and no one has the balls to do it

I dont think we have been poor , obviously Liverpool are the better team and had the best chances.

we get out of their pressing pretty good and we have been flirting with their box just need someone to attack the goal.

Hudson Odoi seems a bit nervous ,hasnt attacked his defender at all and hes been a bit clumsy with his feet. I wouldnt mind seeing giroud at some point

 

Thought its been a great match so far. I never realized how often Salah tries to flick it forward on his 1st touch. That's all he does

 

What if Hazard and RLC change positions for 5 minutes...? Maybe it works for a quick goal.

I think it's important to remember liverpool haven't lost for 2 years at home, and we have been awful away from home this season. 

So while we haven't been great, a lot of poor choices in the final 3rd, we've limited liverpool to a couple of half chances, and we looked comfortable on the whole. 

Hopefully we nick a goal in the second half and hang on.

I just don’t like the false 9/hazard playing through the middle.

I feel like there’s no compensating for what a traditional centre forward offers.

Their midfield just eats up our possession and then they counter.

Midfield needs sorting if we want to have a chance at winning here!

I agree, we need a striker up front.

CHO has been struggling to create anything going forward and doesn't show enough urgency to help out Azpi at the back.
