Am i reading this right? There's people who actually think bringing back Jose is a good idea? I can't even begin to stress just how much of a disaster that would be. I see one reason is to get us over the transfer ban and Hazard going well our reliance on Eden under Jose was 100x worse than it is now. He's a historic great for us and football but he simply doesn't have that edge anymore, you won't put Zola and Drogba up front next season would you? Bringing back Mou wouldn't be any less silly.

I would strongly consider not renewing my membership if Jose comes back, i don't think even prime Jose would be the right fit for the current squad and the direction we want to take let alone this version.

I’ll jump in and have a go. Do I think there is much of a real chance Jose would (a) be considered by the board and (b) he would actually be offered the job and accept, no. I stated less than a 10% chance earlier. It’s probably less than 1%.

But I am having a little fun with it because I have yet to see a qualified name thrown out as a possible Sarri replacement that would actually have interest in the job. I do believe Allegri is eliminated as has been reported as the board prefers to stay away from three straight Italian managers. Plus, who knows if Allegri would be offered or accept the job.

Love Super Frank, but one year at Derby does not make him the right man for the job NOW. Perhaps in a few more years certainly.

With the impending transfer ban and sale of Hazard, what top manager says, “I want the Chelsea job”? Add in our revolving door of managers over the past 15 years and the issues with the Board/Marina, and it would run off most candidates.

So, what top managers are out there and interested? Guus Hiddink anyone?

So out of frustration and maybe depression, bring back Jose ?

Now, let’s get some real names out there to consider.

Come on you Chelsea!!

Well, is it an option? My take them today over Higuain. They are all about the same age, right? ?

We scored an all time low under Roman from the number 9 position in EPL games this year, 12 goals (combined Morata, Higuain and Giroud).

It is interesting, but I think you could sell Hazard, but then if you added just two of the three equivalents of Diego Costa, John Terry in his prime or Cesc Fabregas in his prime to this current squad, we would probably be battling for the top in the EPL. We miss the goals and pure strength up top, a forward attacking midfielder and/or a rock at CB.

So, back on topic, regardless who the manager is, we must fill these positions as soon as possible or 12 months from now it’s time for name the new manager game again. Obviously a transfer ban squashes this.

Chelsea are considering a move for Javi Gracia if head coach Maurizio Sarri leaves the club.
More on this from @MarkOgden_
• Gracia's playing style and coaching ability has caught the eye of the Chelsea hierarchy, who are also considering the merits of former Stamford Bridge midfielder Frank Lampard.
• Gracia is ‘under consideration’ NOT a favoured candidate.
- ESPN.
That's never going to happen. There is more chance of us getting Nuno than Gracia.

Who do you want? After months of saying there are better managers than Sarri, that there are managers out there who have won more than Sarri. Who should we hire?

Anyone who wouldn’t take back costa under these current circumstances needs examined

I love Mourinho, I always have even when he went to United, never held it against him even if he was a bit of a twat there which was expected.

But absolutely not, why go back in transition again? We've taken a new direction of possession-based football, all that work will be for nought if we have Mourinho back. Plus we've sacked him twice now, that would just be silly and I doubt the club are really considering it so my post here is pointless but just want to express my view on the situation.

If Sarri wants to go, which is pretty obvious he does, then let him. Can't fault him, at times I thought he was a bit weak mentally, such as having a strop in training the other day for all the cameras to see. But on the other hand, is it really any coincidence? How many times does this happen with managers here, Fabregas mentioned the negativity and bad things happening behind closed doors the other day, and I'm convinced there are some deep-rooted internal issues at the club.

We are winning things, so that's good, but it's highly frustrating how we keep going through these transition cycles which is highly due to getting so many different managers. If we get a new manager, please don't let it be Lampard, and especially do not let it be Mourinho or Allegri. Let it be somebody of Sarri's style.

Im really hoping the bolded part happens. Going back to pragmatic football is just a step back and unworks everything we've done this season and then we have to adapt to a new style of play again. A vicious cycle.

Assume you are completely unaware of what a flop Costa has been in the two seasons he's been back at Atletico ... ?

Why exactly? I bet both would take the job with open arms.

I actually don’t think it’s a given that Nuno would take it, he’s got a good thing going at Wolves.  Gracia definitely would though, agree there.

More likely Jorginho follows Sarri again.

Jorginho's comments don't look like he's following Sarri this time plus with respect to them we're a bigger club than Napoli, we managed to keep the players that followed Jose mark 1 here after he left, infact one hasn't left to this day.

I can see on the hypothetical circumstances of a Jose return he would see Jorginho's creativity as vital to his set up (especially if he doesn't get Hazard to bail him this time) as apart from his first spell here he's always had or brought a naturally creative central midfielder for his set up whether that number 10 (Ozil, Sneidjer) or a bit deeper (Deco, Cesc).

I wouldn't be surprised if Jorginho is even more untouchable under Jose than he has been Sarri.

Anyway let's hope everything I've just typed (about Jose using Jorginho) becomes completely academic.

New interview with vanity where he pretty much confirms he's going to Juventus.

We're a joke of a club.

Our fans booing on match days are a joke.

Our board are a joke.

Just f**kin let someone build something, what more could we have asked for this season than top 3, European cup and another final.

Christ.

Interview with Vanity Fair he basically says he's homesick and doesn't see his elderly parents as much as he'd like.

Compares the idea of managing another Italian team, despite strong ties to Napoli, as does a divorced man have to stay loyal to his ex-wife?

Essentially says he joined Chelsea to avoid going straight to another Italian team but it insinuates his intention was always to return to Italy.

Could be he was always unlikely to stay at Chelsea beyond the second year of his contract regardless. Might be a factor in why the club are okay with him walking away now.

He also basically said being away from Italy was really difficult and that he's missing Italy very much.

So he went from loving England and wanting to stay in England even if he left Chelsea (as he's said in recent interviews) to very clearly wanting to go back so he's hard to understand isn't he.

I think he's missed Italy since he got here and it's best for everyone that he goes back. He was never as fully committed to us as he should have been. He's basically said he went abroad to avoid going directly to another italian club.

Maybe he wants to go?

By all accounts he wants to return to Italy and Juve are a bigger club and in a better place than we are.

This could blow up in his face though; wasn’t it Lopetegui who while managing Real Madrid at the World Cup had already agreed a contract to manage Madrid? That didn’t work out well.

Despite some fans saying we are shooting our selves in the foot, he is the one manager the club has been very patient with. Other managers would have been sacked after the Bournemouth game, but the club stayed quiet. To now turn around at the end of the season and request a public backing, when you never got the dreaded vote of confidence is just bizarre.

He needs to remember manager that have won consecutive Serie A titles  with Juve have been given their walking papers. He is there to win the CL, and I have a feeling this won’t end well.

I am sure this particular quote is going to go over well with the Juventus-supporters:

“This concept of winning at all costs is an extreme that blurs the minds of the fans and some coaches. This worries me a lot. It’s a sport and it doesn’t make sense. One cannot be unhappy with a second place finish”

I think we just have to acccept this is way Roman likes to run the club, and it's been like that ever since his first year when he sacked the manager who took us to our highest league position for 50 YEARS and the SF of the CL. No other club would think for a second of doing something like that! The writing was on the wall for longterm planning the moment Roman didd that! No planning, logic or simple common sense to running a top club. It''s just roll the dice, sh*t or bust, hire and fire from one year to the next.  They are an absolute shambles, but somehow we keep winning, when we realy shouldn't when being run this way.

Genuinely thought times were changing with how long we stuck with Mourinho and Conte only left due to his own destructive nature.

It seems there a number of factors contributing to sarri leaving.

Homesickness and not being settled in England.

Transfer ban, and losing our best player.

Massive opportunity with juventus, both financially and on the sporting aspect.

A vocal section of fans that dont believe in him.

Im sad to see him leave, i just hope we continue down this path and bring in a manager that can make use out of the foundations sarri has built this season, to avoid this season being a waste, snd to make the transition smoother next season.

Someone who likes to play out from the back, and press from front would be great, and if they also have a track record of bringing through young players, then that would be ideal.

I think Ten Hag would be the most exciting choice, Ajax played some lovely football this year, not too dissimilar to Sarri's Napoli side, and he has dont that whilst making use of the academy graduates at his disposal.
