I don't buy any of that. What would be their goal in that? Manouver things so only 3 English clubs are in the two major finals instead of all 4. If you are softening the possible blow for tonight I get it but come on people.

I don't like the idea Kovacic is playing in Kante's position. Otherwise we should be starting with the best 11. Kepa, Azpi, Christensen, Luiz, Emerson, Kovacic, Jorginho, Ruben, Hazard, Giroud, Pedro.

After last two nights going expecting nothing, crowd will be flat as a pancake and full of tourists (same as usual) while Germans will invade the bridge in massive numbers, reckon it will be 2-2 with them equalising in 90th minute!!! Apart from that it's Friday tomorrow.

So far this week has been really, really sh*t. I am not holding out much hope for tonight being any better. We've secured at least a 4th spot in the league and I have a feeling the team will now be on the beach. Please, please prove me wrong lads.

I am concerned that Sarri doesn't know how to beat a team that has to attack. Frankfurt have to score and at some point in the game they will be pressing us playing out from the back. I have concerns with Luiz and Anderson making errors. The dynamic of the tie would change if they got an away goal so it is imperative we do not concede.

Apart from that I think we can score and there's no way Hazard will not be up for it. An early goal would settle the nerves but the players will really have to be on their game tonight.

A big atmosphere should help blow Frankfurters away.

COYB!

Great chance for us tonight, we've got a great home record in Europe so should be feeling pretty confident of getting through.

I'm hoping Sarri doesn't play safe and looks to take the game to Frankfurt who are going to need to commit numbers forward to score.

Team I would like to see tonight:

Kepa

Dave - Christensen - Luiz - Emerson

Barkley - Jorginho - RLC

Pedro - Giroud - Hazard

If we can get a goal in the opening 20 minutes hopefully that will knock the wind out of Frankfurt.

Top 4 secured and Hazard's last chance to win another European cup with us, no chance we don't qualify here at home. We wore them out with our passing in the first half last time, so should be able to do the same this tie round.

Kepa

Azpi Christensen Luiz Emerson

Jorginho

Kovacic     RLC

Pedro    Higuain     Hazard

Only just seen that Eintracht conceded 6 goals in the first half against Leverkusen at the weekend. Not sure how important the game was to Eintracht or whether they rested their entire team, but not great preparation all the same.

Sucks that no broadcaster in Canada shows the Europa League.

dazn.com has the rights in Canada - you could use the free trial month if you didnt yet (or have a spare email address).

In other news: Sebastien Haller is in the Eintracht squad and according to Hütter „an option“. So maybe the dreaded Eintracht trident will be finally reunited after weeks.

This has been a miserable week for football so hopefully we can rectify that in some small way tonight. I think the players will be on a high knowing we've secured CL football next season and there's no reason for Sarri to not field our strongest team, and Frankfurt need to score, so hopefully that should make for a good game.

Anyway I found some interesting stats:

  • All four of the previous teams to draw the first leg of a Europa League semi-final away from home went on to progress to the final, most recently Atletico Madrid against Arsenal last season.
  • Chelsea have never lost a home game against German opponents in all competitions (W7 D2), keeping a clean sheet in seven of their nine such games.
  • Eintracht Frankfurt have lost their last four away games against English sides by an aggregate score of 1-11.
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 16 Europa League games, the longest such run in the competition since it was rebranded in 2009-10.

No way we can take progression as a given. Frankfurt are a top team and lethal on the counter. In some ways playing away from home will suit their style even more. No Kante and no Rudiger leaves us in a difficult place as well. Let's hope for one final home display from Hazard to get us through.

Bridge should be loud as well hopefully

Kepa, Dave, Andreas, Luiz, Emerson, Jorginho, Kovacic, Ruben, Willian, Eden, Giroud.

My wife just won 2 VIP tickets to the champions league final with flights and 2 nights hotel and £250 spending.

We are both Chelsea fans but you cant change the names on the tickets.

I read about this promotion earlier. Apparently the company running it told every applicant that they'd won and had to issue an apology. I'd check to see if that win is valid.

If it is maybe you could go along and try and cause a massive power cut or something ?

That's devastating. Although I'd be more devastated that I had just won something for the first time in my life..... and it was two tickets to the only final I'd never want to see! :mad0040:

I wasnt overly excited although never been to madrid.

So in other words we're screwed. ?
