Hopefully the Liverpool defeat will put things back in perspective for a few posters here.

Yeah of course we have been terrible for a few weeks and I’m not happy at all, however clearly all top teams are stuttering abit this season so even if it takes us another week or two to get out of this rut, we won’t be out of top 4 race. Far from it.

We really need to snap out of it as soon as possible though.

If anything the Liverpool defeat puts more focus and pressure on us and Frank. Despite the recent sh*t show there's still an outside chance of the title if we can get some momentum going so if we carry on dropping points especially while playing sh*t on a stick football then the pressure and question marks will only crank up further.

Actually we do, we done that Vs Brighton, Newcastle, West Ham, Krasnador and Rennes (twice) this season.

I recall us scoring multiple times in all those games and actually having chances. Against Wolves and Villa we played so bad that it didnt even look like we'll score one haha and when we somehow managed to do that we just couldnt hold on. That's our biggest issue as of late. We cant seem to really create anything.

I'm sure Frank's job is safe,as long as we are always in touching distance of at least 4th place champions league spot.He definitely now has to sort things and fast, even the titanic only stayed afloat for so long.

By all accounts, Frank will get the remainder of the season. Obviously if he gets top 4, he will stay. I wonder what Roman will do if we miss out on CL this season. History tells us that is usually the benchmark. I think it will also depend on who is available.

One thing Frank has to do is also get Werner, Havertz, Pulsic and Ziyech scoring/assisting again. They’ve completely dried up and are not threading enough.

And Mount.

What people are forgetting when they slag off Havertz and Werner is that none of our players are producing other than whoever ends up being on the end of a cross - usually the striker.

Frank deserves to see out this season, no matter what,  and to Christmas next year to sort things out.. in my opinion. Manager are stumbling all over the place, social media has created a world of ridiculous impatience.

If we are in the same, or a worse position by this time next year then yes maybe he's not up to it... but he does need time. As a player he's worked under so many managers, he must know a ridiculous amount about the game and what makes players tick.

He is still very green as a manager, but we must give him time. And dare I say he probably needs another £100M to sort out the middle of the field.

As I mentioned earlier, every manager is stumbling this season. Every single one! It's worth remembering that everyone was laughing at Ole "Ole in", "Give him the job for life" etc..... well, they'll be top of the table after their next game... could be worse for the PE teacher.

I can't speak for anyone else but my feelings are not one bit influenced by social media, i will be patient towards anything i see a clear sustainable blueprint for, it was why i was unwavering of my support towards Sarri and Lampard last season. If we go into our next few games and control them, play largely well, create a respectable amount of chances but for some reason the results escape us i'll be able to turn round and say "ok, frustrating results but there's something in these performances that are encouraging" but we haven't been seeing that of late atall, something looks structurally off.

Fully agree, this season is all over the place for managers and clubs, 3 or 4 bad games sees them drop down the table, 3 or 4 good ones and you fly up it, its that tight. A team getting a couple of days break more than the opposition has a huge impact at the moment, as we saw against City when they looked a lot fresher than us which helped them immensely. Arsenal have lurched from being relegated to a top 4 fight after 3 wins, Utd were roundly mocked and they are now fighting for first, Liverpool were going to romp the league again 4 weeks ago, now they are also apparently in a crisis. Frank has definitely made mistakes and needs to sort sh*t out, but certain "fans" are ignoring the context of this season and the problems its causing all teams and managers and choosing to just bin him off, which is ridiculous. What makes it more annoying is for years we have heard "fans" whine about needing to bring youth into the team, and how they will accept a couple of dodgy seasons to see them mature into our team. Well now we have this young team, and as expected these "fans" are now whining like spoilt children after 4 bad games. Its pathetic to see.

Quote me if they lose another 3 games in 4 matches lol....heck make it 2 in 3.

Its probably the feeling we had after the Everton defeat. Yeah we lost, just didnt take our chances and had a tough night away against a good side. Its the prem, it happens. What followed for weeks on end was absolutely disastrous

They don't have to lose - they have been dropping points all over the place. So many draws when you are actually better off points wise if you lose a couple and win the rest. Don't get me wrong, they are still a good side with a very good coach, but they aren't anything like as good as they were the past two seasons and I can't see them winning the PL again. Makes it all the more frustrating that we aren't taking advantage but I think one of City or Utd will.

But on Southampton, it's great to see them doing so well and I really like Hasenhuttl. So passionate and a really top bloke - deserves all the plaudits. Great that Southampton stuck by him when he went through a really tough patch - hope our own club have taken note!!

I don't see how or why Liverpool losing makes our performances okay under Frank.

It’s for perspective. All teams aren’t doing that great this season, even Man United and they could be top of the league after tonight.

Someone summed it up really well, Arsenal got 3 wins on the trot and are back right in it.

We get 3 wins in row, everything will look rosy and we’ll be labelled as title challengers by everyone. That’s how ridiculous this season is.

I agree context matters, this doesn't justify 6 weeks of piss poor performances though.

There might be one factor I've severely undermined though, admittedly, and it's fitness. Teams who've rotated looks like they've had their rotation pay off, whereas teams that haven't, like us, have suffered. Maybe playing Rudi, Azpi, Christensen, Tomori, Emerson, Anjorin, Gilmour might have paid off more in the longrun and won us some points. But that's all hypothetical, I have no idea if it had made any difference. I know I myself would've been fuming to see a teamsheet like that against say West Ham or Aston Villa.

Who ever said it would? You are deep in your own head.

Our performances of late have been horrible. Is that the reason to fire Frank, probably yes but I'd go game by game and if we can turn this around and stack up victories this talk can hopefully end. Frank is in survivor mode and in all honesty that is probably where he will thrives.

We only need a couples of encouraging things to happen in terms of victories, style of play, in form players and we are back on track.

I mostly enjoy your posts Slojo but you are just so negative it doesn't help anyone. Probably only you.

Frank will last until the media think he has lost the dressing room, then the pressure will build so much the board will go to RA.

This is why he needs to be careful with team selection he needs a couple of results quickly,

Results breed confidence and wins stop the backroom dissent.

What's to be positive about lately? We've won one game in 8, do you want me to be bouncing around with joy? I've already gave my reasons, I don't need to keep repeating myself further.

My point is, there shouldn't have been a "back on track" in the first place, the performances and results have been unacceptable. I've got every bit of respect for people who want to keep Frank and think the reactions on here are over the top, that's their opinion and I can roughly see their point. But again, as I've previously explained a couple of pages ago, I've made my mind up on the managerial situation and I'm going to stick to that for this season and next unless somehow or somewhere we really turned this around and mounted a title challenge or won a cup. I don't see either of those things happening, but if he stays here, I just hope we get top 4.

If you don't like my "negative" posts, feel free to put me on ignore.

I think your massively exaggerating the impact the media have on an owner like Roman, they are pithy little flys to be swatted away who will then go and feed on sh*t.

Well that's the whole point isn't it? They are the defending champions should they are the team that everyone looks up to, yet they got humiliated and they have had plenty of draws against lower teams that they should be beating.

It doesn't make our own results better but still.

I certainly concur with the fact that as you say 'Frank has to sort his sh*t out' and while many of these players are young in age ,they are not green when it comes to playing football, most if not all are international players, its not like its their first gig of playing football at a high level.  What I am seeing is our players seemingly confused at times when things are going right, looking to the sidelines for direction and all they see is Frank with his arms folded with an expressionless face with seemingly no clue of what to do to turn the momentum of the game around in our favour. He just seems tactically inept at the moment, lacking in his decision making to change formation, or change players at the right time regardless of how many minutes have been played since the start, instead of which we have seen the same nonsense over and over. We struggle at times to even get to the opponents penalty area then all we do is piss around outside the box being faced with a low block and decide to go backwards and then back to sideways and backward passes pissing around between the back four. It's the same idea week after week, try and get the ball wide and cross into the box, even though the best header of the ball in the club against City is sat on the bench and the next tallest player is sat along side him, and even if Plan A doesn't work there is no Plan B and no-one around him it seems that can influence his decisions or he can look to for advice...just as well drag his uncle 'Arry' out of retirement and stick him in the seat next to him to offer him a bit of advice now and then.   Yes Frank needs to sort his sh*t out ,because the players are only doing what they are instructed to do.

It is really hard to control this situation. I know you don't want to hear 1. No pre season 2. 6 new guys to instill, 3. Massive competition from resurging sides and so on. We tend to forget this current Prem is so competitive. Anyway as a club we need to be challenging top spots but we are not there yet.

I have no intention to ignore anyone, just giving my opinion on your style. Not being disrespectful.

RA will know before anyone if Frank has lost the dressing room, once that happens it’s very hard to come back from.

Been dropping points and yet are still 7 clear of us. They are not as good as the last 2 seasons correct but to be fair thats very hard to replicate such is the high level they set. The same goes for City.

If Utd win the Prem I will be gobsmacked. Their squad is no better than ours, not worse either. I didn't rate Ole any higher than Lamps either, still don't rate him but he could prove his doubters wrong. This is something Lamps has to replicate. The thought of Utd winning the league and us not even securing top 4 is a joke.

Lampard needs a January signing.

DM: Declan Rice (West Ham) / Sandro Tonali (AC Milan) / Boubakary Soumaré (Lille OSC).

W: Jonathan Bamba (Lille OSC) / Hirving Lozano (SSC Napoli).

All or nothing, let him sign his player.

Mount is a hard working chap, but just isn't someone who can carry a team. He can be good if paired with quality partners in midfield. In time, he can become our Henderson.

I think Mount is a decent player, has skill, enthusiasm and motivation. What he is lacking though is tactical knowlege and that unfortunately does not seem to be changing under the current coaching regime as he is obviously not improving. With the ball, he can create but without the ball, particularly when playing in midfield and having to defend he can be seen running around following the ball instead of marking his opponent closely enough (similar thoughts to CHO). He needs to add structure to his game so he doesn't just flit in and out of games as he is currently doing. Everyone is discussing FL but surely Jody Morris should be working to improve the players in training. Training needs to be more than just fitness, ball skills, shooting etc. The players should be practicising routines where they will always know where their team mates will be so passes can be made automtaically in both attack and defence. To become Henderson, he will need to improve significantly and there is currently no sign of that happening under the current coaching setup. I believe FL should bring in another assistant to create structure, playing patterns and playing styles if he really wants to move forward with this team. Otherwise I am afraid he will become another sad statistic in Chelsea' history. There is a lot of talent at the club that needs to be guided into playing as a unit rather than three groups (D, M & A) of talented individuals. History and Enthusiasm are not enough to manage a PL team.
