Bats gets first goal of Lamps reign

Pedro’s touch and movement are good. Even in the first ten minutes you can tell he’s one of the best players out there. 

Good finish from Michy, showed good strength to create the space for himself. 

Oh it’s great to see Lamps on the bench!! Hasn’t quite hit home he’s our manager still yet!

Or at least include them in a whole year fee. We’re paying more to watch these 7 games than for a whole season of football, granted not live but still.

That’s true. I bet they knew they could cash in because every fan wants to see Franks first game. They’ll make at least a few million worldwide.

Bit harsh on the bloke. Ok he smoked more than Dot Cotton and wasn’t a fan favourite but at least he wasn’t that fat scouse waiter. 

What a ball by Ampadu! Michy did well to keep it, wondering why we hadn't players in front after that ball.

AND won us a trophy and qualified us for the CL this season.

I have no idea what our formation is but one thing i have noticed is that the team has no width

First friendly so I wouldn’t read much in to it but I like how we’re set up. Pressing from the front, on the front foot looking to win the ball back. 

- I like Kenedy at left back, and I wouldn’t be against him being back up to Emerson if we were to sell Alonso. He’ll be tested by better teams than Bohemians but at least he has the pace to recover if caught out. 

- Ampadu is class, he controls the ball so well no matter how much pressure is being applied, he’s cool on the ball and can ping a pass as well. He put a great ball through to Batshuayi down the line.

- Danny Drinkwater has been good considering he’s not seen a second of football in a year. 

- Bats has led the line really well, showed great strength to hold the ball up a couple of times, I just wish he had a bit more pace as he could have been 1 on 1 a couple of times if he had that change of pace, it could just take some getting up to speed.

- Connor Gallagher looks a tidy player, links up with everyone around him really well, lamps just needs to teach him the finish when running on to it at the edge of the box! 

 

Overall quite impressed with that as a first pre-season friendly! Hopefully the second half team can match it!

I thought he played quite well, looks like he wants to impress and not just pick up his wage. 

Ampadu has been excellent, he loves a tackle.
