And most players would not have got it during the match as they are running and not facing each other for long periods of time, while Chilwell and Mount got in close contact with Billy after the game talking face to face for longer. It is very likely that Chilly and Mount won’t have got it, but the English team needS to be cautious to avoid an outbreak. It means f a tbh because the tests are really unreliable and give a lot of false positives, if he has no symptoms and no one in his bubble are sick i’d lean towards it bring a bunk test. I’ve had Covid and if you’ve got it you’ll know about it, it was horrible.

I’ve had Covid and if you’ve got it you’ll know about it, it was horrible. I'm sorry to hear, hope you have recovered well. However, the range of symptoms with this virus is very large. There is a proportion of people that have the virus and are asymptomatic while others may have mild symptoms and a proportion end up in hospital. With respect to the false positives, I'm not sure what test they use for the footballers, but I guess for cases like Billy and Mount or Chilwell, they will have used rtPCRs, which have a sensitivity of up to 98% and the possibility of false positive (that is, to have a positive rtPCR when you haven't got the virus) is really small.

June 22, 20215 yr Norwich is reported to be his new destination on loan. Just some transfer whispers. Anyway would be perfect for him. Ball playing side and a manager with a philosophy.

Though this virus is clearly not a typical/normal virus but I fear that its real origins will never be known to the public due to the fact that the Wuhan labs are financed by both the US and China.
June 23, 20215 yr Scotland really missed him last night in CM/CDM role. McGinn, Armstrong and McGregor are great midfielders but Billy keeps them ticking. Scotland are really crying out for a striker who can put their chances away. Wykes and Adams have missed so many big opportunities for Scotland this Euros, it's insane. You would have thought they had been watching Timo.
June 23, 20215 yr Just don't want billy going on loan, he is god enough to fight for his place alongside Jorgi and Kova
June 23, 20215 yr I'm hot and cold on a Billy Gilmour loan. I genuinely believe that Gilmour has a ceiling on par with both Foden and Mount. He is an absolutely ridiculous talent and anyone with an ounce of footballing knowledge will tell you how difficult it is to play the role he does in midfield; when you barely have time to fart let alone move the ball like he does. His strength on the ball needs to improve for me; getting in that gym and working on his strength and conditioning will do him no end of benefits if he is to establish himself among the very highest praises of midfielders (which I think he can be). On one hand, a loan to another team where he would be guaranteed to start and develop barring injury would be fantastic for his development. Look at Mason Mount, for example, returning from Derby with years of maturity on his shoulders after just one season. The club would need to be right for Billy. It wouldn't be the same situation where he will have a Chelsea legend mentoring him and nurturing him in to a position quite like Mase. Could Villa be a good loan if they wanted him? Dean Jones and John Terry seem to be a perfect duo to potentially work under. Fulham? I could argue Gilmour is at a far higher standard than a Championship team but the physicality and demands of the league could work wonders. All I know is I want to see him start regularly for us and believe he could do a shift; I just don't think Tuchel will want him in that midfield quite as regularly as we'd like, not with Kova, Kante and Jorginho still operating at a high level.
June 23, 20215 yr https://theathletic.com/news/billy-gilmour-chelsea-norwich-transfer/v1dmFuf950lT Going to Norwich in loan for the season it seems. Think it would be a good move for him. Farke also plays with a double six and it seems Tuchel wants him to prove himself over the course of a season. He's almost guaranteed to be starting there. Edited June 23, 20215 yr by Sindre
June 23, 20215 yr Not overly thrilled at the prospect of Billy G spending a season at a side that's likely to be fighting off relegation. Not sure that a team likely to be on the back foot more games than not will help develop his main strengths which are predominantly possession based.

Norwich may be closer to the basement than the top results wise but they absolutely do not play back foot football.

You would have thought they had been watching Timo. Scotland make great target practice. Two fantastic strikes against them by Schlick and Modric. The modric one will be in textbook videos for years about how to use the outside of the foot.
June 24, 20215 yr Norwich is perfect for him. Farke has worked under Tuchel and they are not a side that sits back. I think actually Billy could really bring balance to their midfield. Perfect destiantion for him. They will lose more than win but that is pretty much given.
June 24, 20215 yr Norwich are taking a big chance on Billy, what with his size and all. No way should we be sending this talent anywhere except out on the pitch.
June 24, 20215 yr I think that he should stay at Chelsea. We have three midfielders in Jorginho, Kante and Kova that can't be relied to stay injury-free an entire season, and Gilmour would be the perfect player to rotate them. Plus he'd be learning under Tuchel. If he leaves on loan, I hope the Club ensures that he goes where he is going to get regular game time.

Would 100% agree with this if the alternative is sending him to Bruce or that ilk, but Norwich play a system well suited to his game. One thing we really need to do though is set a recall clause if they panic change managers to one of THOSE safe options, Gallagher ended up playing under Big Sam for half a season last year and we can't let something similar happen to Billy. He's the type of versatile academy squad player that Fergie use to beef up his squad with.
June 25, 20215 yr Yeah, he actually reminds me a little of Darren Fletcher who was starting to mature into a very decent player prior to his UC diagnosis. Gallagher potentially covers Kante, Mount and Kovacic and the attacking midfielders in a real pinch, whereas Gilmour is more an alternative to Jorginho or Kovacic.
June 25, 20215 yr Although I'd rather see Gilmour playing first team football at Chelsea, I trust the people at Chelsea with this decision. They have a very good relationship with Gilmour's family and from what I've seen they clearly have an understanding with them on the plans to bring him through. Look forward to seeing how he gets on, and can see him helping to nick points off some of our rivals. Edited June 25, 20215 yr by TokyoBlue
