Welcome Hakim Ziyech

Thing is Ziyech is arguably one of the players of the tournament. Batshuayi has only ever looked 'good' for Belgium.

We should try to break even if I am being honest.

He's still a very effective player when utilized properly, as Ajax and Morocco have shown. Off the back of this world cup, his market value should rise.

3 years older and only 2 years left on his deal since we signed him though

Ziyech is an inverted forward on the right side that turns inside to cross on his left.

With mainly right footed strikers that breaks their rythym they feed off right footed crosses to flourish coming from the right.

This is why I don't think he is preferred even though he does have some talent.

Fair point in theory but you could argue that because of a lack of top RWs in world football presently especially right footed ones, most of the RWs around are left footed.

I still feel with such a low talent pool of RWs, unless we somehow unearth 2 in the market we should be keeping him. United spent close to €200m buying both Sancho  & Antony to fix their RW, & you have Barca paying €60m for Raphinha. That is how dire the market for RWs is.

Reckon we will keep him if the likes of Milan and other interested clubs keep taking the piss with their offers.

Latest is from Milan. A loan with option to buy for 15m euros. 😄

I get your point about their being a shortage of talent yet just feel wew were so much more productive with James and even previously with Azpi.

Actually left footed player is rarer. These day teams prefer their rw to be left footed so they can shoot more aka get number. However they  are harder to find hence some team play right footed there.

Ziyech problem with us is that he is one dimensional. In order to for him to play well he need to play in very specific role.

That is one of the biggest problems this Chelsea team has, almost everyone plays well in a very specific role. The first coach that can put the puzzles into place will bring in loads of trophies

I'm pretty sure he wanted out in the season of the world cup, never happened for one reason or another. In the end, it didn't harm his world cup chances, in fact he looked a lot fresher having only played once a month. We have lots of players, but so far very few have nailed their spot in the team, so I wouldn't be push Ziyech out yet unless a really good offer comes in.

I don't think it is possible to have a system that is perfect for 20 players. We just need to stop signing too many average player that is one trick pony.

That's why the new owner wants 1 manager to build a team so in theory that alone should help. It's a big difference from Conte to Sarri to Lampard to Tuchel.

I have only ever seen him start to show some consistency one for a few games and then he dislocated his shoulder.  His general body language and attitude appear poor and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he is high maintenance off the pitch. If so it will probably be about weighing up the cost benefits.  Does he offer or produce enough to continue to be a pain in the aR$e to the management

I believe that if we ever want to switch to a 4-3-3 next season that he should in that case stay as he would be a starter in that scenario.

One of the best players in the world cup so far. Different player with Morocco.

I have been watching all matchen and didn’t see him do something special. There are better in this Maroc team. I love the player but he didn’t do any magic. Saw Leaou do more for Portugal.

Watching him try for Morocco makes it so clear he simply can’t be arsed and really doesn’t want to be at Chelsea.

Yep,

Todd has his own little dodger outside of LA. Work dodger

Maybe Milan works out and we can work a deal with Leao the other way (they pay us ofcourse)

Haven’t Milan already walked away from a deal because he wants a pay rise to £140k/w from his present £100k/w? Think we are stuck with him and we either have to reach an agreement to pay off his contract, or keep loaning him out for the next 2 seasons. No one is paying anywhere close to £15m for him.

It's right to be pissed of with the pair of them, both of their names fit nicely onto the chant.....

He plays when he wants, he plays when he wants, Hakim Ziyech , he plays when he wants !......Mateo Kovacic , he plays when he wants !

But Potter and the club will not question them for fear of upsetting the dressing room.

This is what we now have at the club, a bunch of players in cosy jobs, over paid a basic salary, no need for them to perform for the club.

I hate to say it, but i can see it getting worse in the coming months with players having no will to fight for the badge.
