But it's quite telling there's no interest in either Pulisic or Ziyech from any league. We've apparently offered Pulisic to 2 Serie A clubs this season who turned him down. Milan aren't keen on paying 8m for Ziyech. No one is keen on paying our 8m asking price apparently. It's a sad state of affairs when we're moving on players like Werner before much less talented and capable options because he was the only one any club is actually interested in. Why is our team filled with players from those " weaker " league's ? And we buy them because they inevitably looked good in those leagues ? The Academy and America is where we should be looking for players. surely ?
September 5, 20223 yr Yes, definitely. But we snagged KDB from a poor (Swiss?) league and Salah from a poor (Dutch?) league, so there are plenty of pearls there (too bad those two got away).

The disrespect towards Genk 😲 My heart bleeds hearing this from a fellow Chelsea fan (as it's my team in Belgium 😄). Salah came from Basel, Swiss. KDB and Courtrois came around the same time from KRC Genk, Belgium. A team where a lot of good footballer came through (including our new Senegalese French CB)

Probably less so Werner than Ziyech as at least Werner had a high ceiling (potential) and was young. I don't mind taking an educated punt on young, high ceiling players and it not working. But running off to buy mid-twenties decent but not great players that will never be truely world class seems pointless and stupid to me. Why go out to buy a player from Ajax that is only going to lose his place to Ruben Loftus Cheek and cost more (plus fill a non-homegrown slot) in the process? It would be different if we were going to just accept we aren't a top budget team anymore, but it's clear from the recent spurge (and the one under Lampard during hoaxvid19) that we are absolutely one of the biggest spending clubs in the world (after Man City and PSG, ahead of even Liverpool). We should only be signing players who are either a) world class or b) potential to be world class. All this messing around with middling premier league quality decent/good players who aren't homegrown is dumb and pointless to my mind. We have a world class academy that's produced the likes of Mount, James, Tomori, Abraham, RLC and even Ake in recent(ish) years. They should be the back ups to the world class signings, not the likes of Ziyech or Drinkwater. Basically if they aren't coming in to be starters or high ceiling potential young players, I think the place is better off filled with a homegrown or academy player. So many are excited about the heap of new signing coming into the club and to be honest, I just see alot of signings that may be on the scrap heap like Ziyech in 3 years and us going out to spend another fortune on another bunch of not world class players. November 6, 20223 yr What I wouldn’t give for Timo now! At least he offered a threat and we created things even if he missed most of them lol

October 19, 20232 yr Chelsea flop’s woes continue as green light is given for January loan move, with £17m sale impossible (msn.com) Looks like he is still perpetually off-side and tripping over his own feet. @nonotnowjim

October 20, 20232 yr Just a personal opinion to those that matter in thread creation and moving them.... This is bad form and representation. Stop treating mount Werner differently to how other players have been treated. Confine all threads about him to where they belong and send them to where others have mentioned. Stop shoving him down our throats. We get it he is liked by some but he is also not liked by some but all agree he is not our player. Stop making threads for him in an area reserved for our Team.

January 6, 20242 yr Can't help but feel that he will be so much better in Tottenham's system than he ever was in ours. He'll still be offside 10 times a game and miss easy chances though.
January 7, 20242 yr Rory Jennings has made a hate filled rant about " Judas" Timo going to Spurs on his YouTube channel, and at the same time saying he was so bad he would get in a worst ever Chelsea eleven. What a dick
