November 23, 20214 yr Phenomenal performance. We're a very well-drilled team under Tuchel. After sorting out our defence at the beginning of his tenure, our attacking prowess is now starting to take shape under him. James, CHO and Chalobah all on the scoresheet. Our academy products have been developing beautifully starting with Frank and continuing under Tuchel. The depth of the squad is incredible. Lukaku, Havertz, Kovacic, Mount, Christiensen, RLC, Dave and Werner didn't start and we looked comfortable all evening. A shame about the injuries. Wishing both Chilwell and Kante speedy recoveries.

November 23, 20214 yr man we are in good form, haven't seen a team battered Juventus like that for years, and we didn't even have a striker. James is a genius, the goal, the pass that started the last goal, and defending was world class. There was one moment where Ziyech went down hurt, instead of putting the ball out of touch, he dribbled 30 yards from center to right touch line, took 2-3 defenders with him, and got a corner out of it in the end. Hope Chiwell is not seriously hurt, pretty sure he'd be out this weekend. Nice for Werner to get a goal, although looked offside, but he deserves a bit of good fortune.
November 23, 20214 yr Author ‘This was a football lesson’ – Fabio Capello blown away by Chelsea’s Champions League win over Juventus Fabio Capello says Chelsea gave a ‘real lesson in football’ with their 4-0 demolition of Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. Thomas Tuchel’s side delivered a commanding performance at Stamford Bridge as goals from Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Timo Werner sealed the win. Chelsea have now reached the Champions League knockout phase and are now in pole position to finish top of Group H ahead of Juve. And Capello believes Serie A needs to study the way Tuchel has got Chelsea playing and feels Italian clubs are at a disadvantage in Europe due to their slower tempo. ‘I think this was a real lesson in football from Chelsea,’ Capello told Sky Sport Italia. ‘Let’s take Liverpool for example, they play aggressively and vertically. ‘And tonight we saw Chelsea never pass the ball backwards. They never start from the back, instead they are always proactive, always forward, no passes to the goalkeeper. ‘These are rhythms that the Italian league is no longer used to. There is a big difference in speed and quality compared to our league. ‘There is another pressure. Then here are the tackles, you enter hard, the referee does not whistle for fouls that would be whistled here [in Serie A]. ‘In Italy you play too much with the goalkeeper. I think they are two German coaches, maybe we need to learn from them and update ourselves. ‘A coach used to say, ‘how you train is you play’. When there is great intensity and competitive spirit and you are not used to it, it becomes difficult. When you train with not enough rhythm in the end you get these results in Europe.’ https://metro.co.uk/2021/11/23/this-was-a-football-lesson-fabio-capello-blown-away-by-chelseas-win-over-juventus-15654806/?fbclid=IwAR3pxq9LJdUrBwgqOxhEW-1OliJEf0fEA_mBSsET3t9sX7OLaRD_zv8-nKw
November 23, 20214 yr I can't help thinking we really are seeing something special this season. The squad strength, the academy players stepping up and the coaching by Tuchel is all adding up.
November 24, 20214 yr Just read Tuchel said Chilwell feels a lot better but will be tested tomorrow. Please Lord let Ben Chilwell be ok.
November 24, 20214 yr I am actually proud of what we are achieving. Look a menace in defence and attack. The team/squad is literally complete. We can have players rotating in and out the team and they all look at home. I mean Chalobah was on loan at Lorient last season and played most of the games in midfield. Tuchel works with him and tries him as RCB and looks absolutely assured there. CHO has had to be patient but is getting his chances and looking the real deal. James is getting better and better with each game. We beat a European giant today 4-0 with our first three scorers all coming from the academy. Chalobah, James and CHO. Every game we have at least 2/3 academy players on starting 11. Sometimes we generally like last night have around 5 players from academy featuring on pitch (Mount and RLC coming on). We long have yearned to see some of our academy players get a chance and have been criticized by media for not giving them a chance. Now we are giving them chances. People thought after transfer ban, that would be it, but nope despite the riches, we are still giving our academy player chances. Proud to see this. In fact, there is no other club in the major leagues who is giving this many chances to their academy players whilst completing for major honours. Really happy for Ziyech tonight. Was fantastic. CHO fantastic once again and got a goal too. There is not one player who I can pick out a negative on but James was just another level again. Only 21! Bring on Sunday!

Juve are truly and elite club, up there with facing Bayern, Real, Barca etc However they played such a boring, bland but very effective style in the first game and all they need to do is avoid losing by 2 goals that it just seems inevitable this one is a snooze fest. They could be losing by a goal and still sit deep and counter. They did try and they failed, boy am I glad I was wrong about it being a boring game, what a performance. Like Leicester so many excellent displays it seems unfair to dig out individuals however given the belief I had in Trev before the season started seeing him keep Dave and AC out of the side on merit is really pleasing, seeing the Cobham boys so excellent brings a tear to the eye. I really hope we keep TT for a long while he is an exceptional manager. Also nevermind comparing James to TAA, he is beyond that debate now. Now he is he going at it with Kante, Salah and KdB for the best player in the league. Man is an absolute beast. Edited November 24, 20214 yr by axman2526
November 24, 20214 yr Woke up with a smile on my face. So proud of the lads, the academy, the loan system and anyone associated with the academy and loaning system. Neil Bath, Jody Morris etc2 take a bow. Brilliantly nurtured these young boys. We will lose a couple of talented ones but the ones breaking through will be something special
November 24, 20214 yr It was lovely seeing Bonucci's face during and after the game, he really didn't know what hit him. Hopefully Southgate takes note in future on using Reece and Callum more. Our Academy boys should make up a decent percentage of the England squad.

We have everyone involved so heavily in the build up and teams simply cannot cope.
November 24, 20214 yr Forgot to mention how much RLC looks the part attacking wise. Fantastic feet and body swerves for a big guy. Lucky to have him.
November 24, 20214 yr We completely dominated. 6-0 wouldn’t have flattered us. Great play by Mendy and Silva when called on too.

This lot didn't even feature for reason of loans/sales etc and I bet it would have given Juve a good game last night. Baxter Tomori, Guehi, Colwill Livarmento/Lamptey, Bate, Vale, Gallagher, Castillo/Maatsen Broja, Abraham I didn't include Ampadu or Gilmour as we paid small fees for them LOL And then of course we have the SIX Cobhamites who are firmly established in the first team squad - James, Chalobah, Christensen, Mount, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi Neil Bath & Co take a bow - simply PHENOMENAL. Makes the heralded Class of '92 seem a bit half arsed doesn't it LOL.

We can still play this way with Rom in the team though, TT just needs to ensure that we play that way rather than use him as a focal point. Belgium can do it so there is no reason why we can't.
