July 13, 20224 yr would be very happy to see him here. he is about as perfect a replacement for Toni as we could have hoped for. hopefully leaves a clear path for Colwill too. hope TT can reassure him, would be gutted to lose him like Livramento, Tomori etc. as others have said, the 5 year contract is a problem for me though. 2/3 + 1 would make sense, but if this goes wrong, we are left with ANOTHER enormous long term contract we can't shift. huge huge risk
July 13, 20224 yr How long until Barcelona announce their interest and ask him to wait for them to free up more funds?

I presume that right now they try really hard to figure out how to fit Sterling into their squad so that they can hijack him.

July 13, 20224 yr Kalidou Koulibaly has accepted Chelsea as next club after new meeting with his agent yesterday in Milano. Personal terms agreed for €10m net salary per year. He's waiting for the clubs to complete the agreement. 🔵 #CFC Chelsea sources consider this deal "just matter of time".

In a harder PL you would expect him to miss more games. Factor in Thiago who can play ever other game, it doesn’t look that smart. I added up all the games he missed and divided it by 10 because this is data from the 11/12 season till the 21/22 season I reckon we also have a superior medical staff to Napoli. And look at the amount of days he was out, most he is out is like 4 to 5 weeks. And I think here with a better medical department we can probably prevent injuries better as well and rotate him like we did with Silva when the data suggest we have to. a dembele, who we were ready to sign at some point, has been out almost 700 days while he is 25. Koulibaly has been out for around 200 days and he is 31. Chilwell has been out 36 games this season while koulibaly has been out 37 his whole career. Just to put it in perspective

I see few risks with Koulibaly tbh, he's without a shadow of a doubt one of the very best CBs in the world and 31 is no age for a centreback.
July 13, 20224 yr Chelsea are prepared to submit the final, official bid for Kalidou Koulibaly: €38m plus add-ons, up to €40m package. Napoli could accept, after opening proposal worth €35m turned down. 🔵🇸🇳 #CFC Koulibaly agreed personal terms - while Chelsea are also working on Nathan Aké.

Other than the money involved I am very happy at the prospect of him coming in. He is class and a big personality and leader I really hope gets Mendy back to his best. No, Net is before tax lol so its 176k a week before tax at like 50%

Very decent price.
July 13, 20224 yr A signing based on his nationality. Another attempt by the club to break into the commercial Senegalese market. Marketing of K2 begins now.

I hope he doesn't retire before negotiations are completed
July 13, 20224 yr K2. I am happy with that signing. As much as we all want the young De Ligt and/or Kounde. Signing big blokes who know how to get the job done and know how to defend. Solid. Reliable. Experienced. We have good young CB's at the club already. Presnel Kimpembe is back to the top of the list. Apparently.

We definitely should not overlook the powerful Senegalese market. It's a heavy responsibility for our marketing department, that also has to target the US market. Better not sign a player from Luxemburg before the dust has settled!
July 13, 20224 yr 5 hours ago, ducavis said: Is Colwill or any other youth player meant to wait while a 31yr old player sees out his 5yr contract. The contract length is nuts, and I don’t think any other club would have entertained that. A 2yr + 1 yr option would have been tough but bearable. Koulibaly will play as lcb n then transition as ccb once Silva leaves.

July 13, 20224 yr I dunno, if he was good he would have been bought ages ago instead of staying in Naples until 31. He also has been playing less in the last 3 years, injury prone or simply no longer first choice? Underwhelmed until I see him play I guess.
July 13, 20224 yr In the circumstances, I think he's a good replacement for Rudiger. Happy with this if it goes ahead.
