That doesn't say he was signed to play LCB though, just that its an added bonus he can. Clearly says he was brought in to relieve the pressure on Chilwell at LWB.

I think Tuchel said his profile is similar to Azpi which I agree with.

Tuchel also said he will be a competition for Chilwell for lb but not as lwb

Having a stinker of a season unfortunately. Hopefully he can turn it around.

The sh*te part about this season is that you don't know who's actually sh*t or is just playing sh*t because everyone has been piss poor or at least playing below standard barring Silva and Chilwell.

Nah it is quite obvious who is good and who is not.

When he is on form he is very good, but this season his form has been very inconsistent. There is definitely a good player in there, but I think it's just lack of confidence throughout the side and not just an individual thing tbh.

There is a very good player in there, and i've a sneaking suspicion, with his speed of sweeping in and nicking the ball. he would actually make a very good defensive midfielder, sitting in front of a back 2, where if the swoop fails, there's backup. Don't forget it's Tuchel who wanted him, and i think he knows a bit more about things than us.

I thought he was really good at Brighton and this was a signing I wanted and was excited for (though not for the price we paid), but he has looked pretty poor so far.

That being said, he is not a CB, and I don't know why we keep playing him there. He should be LB/LWB cover for Ben.

I think he is in the same bracket as many of our players.

That is that he is technically good, is a decent squad/team player - but is never going to be the elite player that will elevate a squad to the next level or drag the team kicking and screaming through a tie.

I put most of our players in this category - with the exception of KK, Azpi and Auba who are either not good enough or simply past their best (or both).

The only players we have who I think have the fighting spirit and the quality are  Kante, Silva and Enzo - and perhaps Fofana.

Sadly, I think the likes of Mount, James, Chilly, Kai are simply not "winners" who are able to consistently influence a game and get us a result when the backs are against the wall.

For all the slights against the likes of Ramires, Meireles, Bosingwa etc - they could at least dig in and fight.

I will not judge any of ours players until we have a normal couple of seasons because at Chelsea we never have normal seasons and I crave for a normal season.

And I refuse to target or abuse any of our players except ones who do interviews publicly wanting to leave.

I still think he's a good player. What he lacks in the attacking phase he makes up for it in the first phase of the build up. That's where he has an edge over Chilwell and I'd argue he'd be a better LB than Chilwell.

He'd probably start under Enrique, and under Nagelsmann he'd probably shift between a back 4/5 based on Chilwell's availability.

scariest part is he's looked better at CB than at LB/LWB.

Enrique made a career off of Jordi Alba, who's a lot more similar to Chilwell than he is Cucurella.
