Your first message in here. ^ You don't need pace to play in the premier league, and certainly not defence. Ivanovic, one of Chelsea's best ever fullbacks, wasn't pacey. Naming one single person in a four man back line doesn't make any point. You also mentioned Trippier who is slower than all our CB's bar Silva.

Congrats on making a point irrelevant to the one being discussed though, proud of you.

Ivanovic is a VERY bad example of the point you are trying to prove.

As good as he was in his prime, he was brutally bad in his last season(s). He cost us many points as wingers were running circles around him.

So we'll ignore 8 years of prime Ivanovic because he had a bad season when he got old and his legs went?

Behave yourself.

Colwill is 20 years old. Ivanovic's legs went in his mid-thirties...

Just seen Champions League winner Ryan Bertrand is training with the loan development squad at Cobham.

Surely even at this point in his career he’s a better option than this useless muppet?

I was at a Leicester pre-season game last year (or possibly the year before) and noticed Bertrand took all the set pieces. So yes.

Did you even read?

I literally wrote "as good as he was in his prime".

Guess why he had a shocking last season? Because of his lack of pace at that point. He was never fast for a RB but he had enough pace to get the job done, until he hadn`t and that`s when things turned ugly.

Looking back at last season I remember Cucurella being one of our best players in the first game at Everton, and then decent against Spurs. Certainly there was no indication of the dreadful form ahead. Things all seemed to go downhill after the hairpulling incident.

Colwill is quicker than Ivanovic was in his prime. You bringing up someones legs going in his mid-30's in a comparison to a 20 year old is was off the mark.

Lol yeah why would we make a loan to rich club like United. Pay a fee or go away.

Wages covered in full and an 8m loan fee. I'd accept that. He's a very expensive asset to have sit on the bench and a transfer fee would mean a fairly big write down on his FFP value.

Pay lots of cash, or no deal. I know there are some cool FFP accouting that may suggest a loan is a good idea, and why do we even want to do a favour for them, when was the last time United done anything for us?

Paid 60m for an almost out of contract Mason Mount.

That's because they really rated Mason as a player and the premium on English players, whether the deal pays off for them or not the next few years will tell.

With a year left, they could have lowballed the bid or even worse, saddle us with him and gone for free next summer. It’s not the biggest of favor but between them and Arse, they did help clear ffp for a bit and gave us the funds for Caicedo.

if they can take another deadwood from us, I’d snap their hand off now.

Yes please.

Martinez + Cucu combination. 🤤🤤🤤

We should also put a clause that Cucu need to be used when he play against us. Forget any build up structure or fancy  strategy, just pump long ball and crosses to this side.

He needs a loan he’s never going to turn his career round here in my opinion. And I don’t think anyone is going to pay a massive fee for him we god sold a dud  at a massively overpriced fee . Todd’s fault not cucurella
