Cesare Casadei

Looking forward to see him try and contest Enzo's role, some healthy competition is always good. The idea is to get used to being here and try and have a breakthrough next season, he's a top talent and it's time.

There is no denying the talent but I feel that playing pretty regularly at Leicester would have done more for his development than sitting on Chelsea's bench.

I've got a Leicester mate who thinks he might have been pushed as much as pulled. They were looking to sign a player in a similar position and he'd have likely ended up getting less minutes second half of the season.

It's just a couple of months till the season is over, he did learn a lot just from being in that Leicester team already so I believe it's no harm done.

They didn’t sign the player though,  Sensi is a different profile to Casadei and can’t stay fit. Leicester needed to make a big sale in Drewsbury Hall to have wiggle room to sign Sensi. Casadei would actually have ended up seeing more game time had both deals gone through.

Like Whitehall said it was “bizarre”. Leicester will get promoted back to the PL, and he could have been loaned back to them next season. Instead he will probably be loaned to a championship club.

Leicester are right on the edge of FFP by all accounts & didn't sign Sensi because they couldn't free up the space for him..  You are right, He was never a replacement for Casadei .We were never going to sell Dewsbury /hall in that window , he is our best offensive talent.

Casadei was getting game time & our Manager seemed to really like him. He was not returned... he was recalled.

Sure glad we brought him back just to not play.

Weird thing is we actually could have used  Santos to rotate with Caicedo/Enzo but no, we send him to Strasbourg and recall Casadei from his successfull loan to warm our bench. Thats how you make everybody lose

Another mystery of why he was recalled, and why not another loan if he's not deemed useful by the manager when we are relying on 3 MFs playing every game. What happened to the Lesly guy, joined the injury Chelsea first 11?🤔

I’m not sure why he didn’t start yesterday. Maybe play 4231 as on Wednesday with Casadei for Enzo and Mudryck as a 10 (I thought that he did well in that position on Wednesday, surprised about it tbh). If things are not going well in the midfield, bring on Enzo at half time, at least he would have got a deserved rest and Casadei recall would have been justified.

I think Poch not putting on Casadei vs Brentford and later complaining he has no midfield cover, tells a story that he didn’t want Casadei back. Making a point to someone above. If ever there was a time for Casadei to play it was in this game

It just makes him look like a jackass. City, Liverpool, and United have no qualms giving players who are younger and have less experience than Casadei a chance to fill in.

Lol, sure. I’m also confused by why we have gone from Castledine, to Gee, to Tauriainen as academy midfield cover on the bench. Doesn’t really seem like there’s any sort of planning there

Tauriainen looks like a young Matic I saw his brief cameo and straight away he was tugging the shirt of an opposition player.

I hope is a DM.

Yeah, he looks a bit like him but Tauriainen is an attacking player I think.

He`s a center mid/attacking mid, I've a feeling the only reason Poch played him is because he fits in with his weird "tall is best" policy.

Decent cameo.. I would want to see more of him especially providing rest to Caicedo.. Caicedo is looking knackered..

what folks don’t realise is that you will lose a lot of weight and muscle during a season unless you recovers without a pre season I think Caicedo has lost some strength .. expect him to bulk up a little in the off season this time and we will see a much more dominant Caicedo..

I actually think Caicedo has shown signs of improvement in the last couple of games.  It's Enzo who has looked  out of form and struggling with the physicality of the league. He is probably in more need of a rest.

Its one or other at the moment, simply because they play so far apart, the gaps between them at times is ridiculous considering they are supposed to be playing as a midfield 2. The only time they have played as an actual 2 we have looked much better, only for us to then revert back to the stupid gaps the very next match.

Hard to really get a read on this guy.

I would like to see him play a full 90 just once, can't be worse than current form Enzo. Is he able to play v Leicester in the FA Cup?

Don't think so.
