Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

Featured Replies

The only reason why Potter hasn't been sacked is because Boehly and co have absolutely no understanding of the sport they have involved themselves with. There hasn't been a single thing that has improved since Potter arrived, everything has gotten worse. Are people really that deluded that they believe that things will improve if he gets a pre season? He's not good enough and we're heading down if Boehly and co don't get educated quickly about football.

That was the only reason he was hired after being so mediocre at Brighton.

Him remaining here is just stubbornness from the owners who won't admit the painful truth they voluntary chose to implement the biggest managerial downgrade in the sports history before they had a director of football in place who would have stopped them.

Right, I'm curious, have we now gone negative goal difference since Potter has been in charge? That can't have happened under any Chelsea manager this century right? This is absolutely appalling.

I haven't been on in a while, sry, medical reasons. Hope everyone is well.

Didn't look for my original post and just post up i told you so (im sure this thread was early double digits)...but this forum ready to take blinkers off yet and admit tuchel was 100 times better and it's not the players!

I'm excited with what the new owners want for Chelsea and its fine using numbers and stats for players but you can't use numbers and stats for tactical knowledge and experience. Biggest mistake was to get rid of TT, they should have instead provided him with the resources he needed to fulfil what they wanted from his side...

-Why not hire a guy to understand the tactical genius then have him represent TT in the boardroom....this I believe was one of the reasons TT got fired. TT wanted to focus on the team instead of the larger picture.

-TT being judged after less than 10 matches in a new season after all the chaos of covid, change of ownership and a divorce!

(I believe that was the reason alot of fans lost it with TT)

Anyway....just waiting for potter to go for a while now.

He's not ready to take on a club like chels.

He's only just ahead of lamps when it comes to tactical experience, but we got rid of someone in the top 3 of the world.

Smh.

Will owners swallow their pride and ego and hire TT back...thats what I'll be praying for.

And damn, has the forum got really laggy.

Potter didn't achieve a positive goal difference once in his 3 full seasons at Brighton.

Poch did it in his only full season at Southampon who were even worse when he took over.

Despite having 2 wins in 16 games Potter has a better win percentage and a better goal difference per game than he did at Brighton.

This is the level of the manager we chose to hire.

He has to go now. He hasn’t improved us one bit.

1 win in 11 games. I don’t care if we have I many new players or injuries, that is still unacceptable.

We have a brilliant squad that are far more capable than this. If we stick with Potter we could end up in relegation dogfight… How is this acceptable?

Wish him all the best in the world and he is probably the nicest of blokes but feck me, he's the worst manager I have ever had the chance to see manage this club.

Even Rafa, AVB and Scolari had good spells

We don't need to spend £30m-£100m on players to play Potter's tedious, safety first (at best!) football.

It's a shame we can't play against those training ground dummies every week. We might grab a few 1-0 wins....

I'd imagine the last time was at some point under Glenn Hoddle. Probably 94/95 season.

Only conceding a goal a game average, which is good, but no good when you below one at the sharp end 🙂

I keep hearing from some people that we've got nothing to lose by sticking by him now, as we won't get relegated... Motherf**kers, how are we safe from relegation? We can't buy a single goal, let alone any points, and we've had the "easy" games.

We won't get relegated.

The problem is that we waste the season sticking with a man who will never improve this team, we're going to back one of our worst managers the way we should've backed Tuchel, that's the painful part about it all.

We can still salvage this season if were to get someone in, but we're going to let it go to waste instead. I feel sorry for all the big singings we've made who are going to have 5 months wasted. These performances are going to hurt all our major price tags, and Felix won't want to stay here after all this.
