He's had some great performances for us over the years, Champions League final the biggest example I know at least 1 that told me that as soon as he's gone we'll be winning the title and that the sole reason why we haven't done it is because of him so... Yea some did truly believe that.

He's a bit like the Anti Potter, Graham is a manager you typically hate if he's at your club and there's never a shortage of rival fans imploring you to keep him. Well that's always the case, but I don't want him at Chelsea. It would genuinely switch me off. He won't come anyway, he'd see us as beneath him. Because he's a prick
February 4, 20232 yr 4 minutes ago, Gol15 said: At least we all got the proof as soon as possible that it wasn't Jorginho holding us back. Our last 2 managers simply don't know how to make an attack working and with that you simply won't win the league ever. Even big teams that win the league struggle to get it done against smaller teams at times but when they figure it out it's those wins that ultimately make all the difference between winning the title or being in the top 6 and we have been struggling to score against any given opponent so the fact that we're still around 10th place shows that the single most damaging decision that set us back for a lot of time was to stop counting on Diego Costa which was our last real striker that could lead the line. Ever since D.Costa we haven't had a top striker, Morata is at his best as a super-sub, Michy not good enough, Giroud a super-sub, Tammy not good enough, Werner needed a partner and Lukaku tragically not the player we should have splashed the cash on. I believe that Potter is essentially not the kind of manager that knows how to make a great attacking team so he would need to improve his own level and the level of his staff in order to solve this problem, it has been a big problem for us after all. Been waiting. Thanks @Gol15 for justifying my faith in you in fighting the fight to the end...and beyond. If only this side were half as consistent as you....fantastic. Of course we're all coming back at you when Jorginho sucks the life out of the gooners. You just wait until the wheels fall off over there..oh no wait!

Yes Jorginho plays for Arsenal and they just lost a match against Everton that has a new manager, must all be because of Jorginho, just like all of our own problems only exist because of Jorginho too! I get it, you just want the easy way out.

To be fair, I can see Everton becoming a nasty team to play against under Sean Dyche. They'll be like Burnley on steroids

We should win 3 of those games minimum with these players, that would be enough to relieve the pressure. Hmm: West Ham- loss Saints - draw Leeds - draw Dortmund- loss Spuds - loss Dortmund- draw

February 4, 20232 yr I posted a few months back he’s David Moyes 2.0 and he hasn’t done anything to dispel that yet
February 4, 20232 yr I saw this posted and thought it was interesting for context: The most underperforming teams in PL are Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham. Last 2 seasons, most games in Europe: 1) CFC 122 games (!!) 2) Liverpool 117 Since last season: 1. CFC 2. LFC 3. City (slightly underwhelming by their standards) 4. West Ham (2 EL long campaigns). Less games played since last season? Newcastle and Arsenal. The most overperforming teams in PL as opposed to preseason expectations. Both Liverpool and Chelsea have quite literally played an extra half season than those teams. Both on their last legs. Injuries: Liverpool had 54 injuries in 20/21 Chelsea had 97 (!!) injuries in 21/22 This season: Liverpool and Chelsea the most affected by injuries yet again. My conclusion from this: The past 2 seasons might have done irreparable damage to both these teams, and the reality is that some of their players are basically done. Fabinho’s legs are gone at 29, VVD is mortal. Kante and Kovacic might never recover. Mount is exhausted.

All 105 million euros of him. How Tuchel never managed to win the EPL, or even get us close, with those kind of resources I will never know. Maybe this year, with Aubameyang, it would have happened. I think so.

Frustration and disappointment. More poor performances, particularly with everyone fit, I think it’ll happen. Maybe after Dortmund.

I could be wrong but I believe Todd and the Eggman, while they make the final call, will be leaning heavily on their new boardroom teams advice. Aside from Paul Winstanley most of them only started over the past month or so, Stewart and Shields started at the end of January. I believe these guys will want to get a feel for Potter, and I would not be surprised if they are given a remit to assess him/his staff and advise about his position in the summer.

Dyche won the tactical battle, against a team everybody has been trying to find weaknesses in; he’s a top coach and deserves all credit. The 451 mid block / temporary 442 when Zinchenko was trying to dictate things matched them up, Dyche had them organised, compact, clear instructions on the press, doubled up on wingers; their midfield was positionally disciplined throughout too. This comes from studying the opposition and game management. If they ‘couldn’t be arsed’ with Frank that is down to him as a coach as someone trying to relay ideas clearly and implementing them to resonate with the profiles available.

Lampard is not a good coach it’s that simple he hasn’t learnt anything from his days with US and repeated the same mistakes. he needs to spend time in the lower leagues here/across Europe or be assistant to a top level coach.

Interesting there’s definitely something to this but on Friday only Silva, Mount and Havertz could claim to be over played and Tiago Silva is playing like he’s as fresh as a daisy. James just coming back from injury and a lot of new player’s doesn’t help, but I doubt they’re knackered and should be able to put a shift in.

Also not fitting the narrative is that last season we only had one outfield player who started more than 41 games, and that was Rudiger ... who now plays for Real Madrid LOL. And the season before that, there were only three starting more than 39 games ... Mount (48), Dave (41), and Werner (44) who is also no longer here of course. Mount is most likely off the boil due to a combination of his relationship break up, and Potters' elite "coaching", the latter of course affecting 99% of the squad 🙂 The other elephant in the room is the possible effects of long Covid or vaccine side effects. I know from personal experience that the Pfizer vaccine has issues, as even 15 months after I had that jab, it is still leaving me totally exhausted after a simple round of golf. Would not surprise me in the slightest if many of our squad have energy issues due to something similar going on with their physiology.
