This guy is my player of the season. Dont care where we finish in the league or if we win the euro cup and CWC....

Toss up between Palmer and Caicedo... I love Palmer, he's been brilliant, love the carefree attitude he has.. but I think taking Caicedo out of this side weakens us more than if we didn't have Palmer.

Might be controversial, but, Palmers form since Xmas hasnt been great but not sure there's been a drop off in Caicedo's form and without him think we'd get bullied a lot more through the middle. doesnt get the goals or assists, but i look at his game and see Dessially, Viera, and Fernandinho about him and he is a proper meat head who throw s his weight around. Bobby Di Matteo also had a bit of ruthlessness about him. I see a lot of other players styles in his game and I just enjoy watching him get among it.

I think this guy has been a busy heart in the engine room and is an absolute destroyer... Love him. Sorry Palmer, this season, my vote is for this guy.

He's got my vote too. Can't give it to Palmer now, not unless he suddenly springs to life in these final few games, gets us top 5 and wins us the Conference League.

That was a statement performance from both he and Lavia. Abuse they’ve received from the Liverpool lot has been over the top.

He’s a cheat code honestly I don’t know how he does it.

The £112 million we pay for is going to look like a freaking bargain in a few years time.

Just the complete midfielder, feels like such a waste having him holding when he's so good going forward with his tidy dribbling and touches. My personal MOTM today.

Agreed. my pick for MOTM. Wasted at RB, but played so well despite that....

One of those players you could probably play him anywhere and he’d be effective. Really solid at RB, but when moved back to central midfield, he wasted no time to remind everyone he is an absolute monster.

He was everywhere. Wouldn’t swap him for any other midfielder. Such a humble guy, and a fighter also. Player of the season for me.

Been a real crime if we don't build him a team worthy of his immense talent.

Just watch that little leap he did to get to the ball first to win that penalty against Liverpool.

Just that tiny little sample embodies the desire and effort this guy puts in every week.

Top quality footballer.

Players player of the year and fans player of the year.

He has been immense (to say the very least) for us this season.

Done something very similar against Spurs in our 4-3 when he drew a foul from Bissouma and Palmer scored the resulting penalty. His anticipation and desire is amazing. Top player and has proved a fantastic signing.

Absolutely the right choice as our Player of the Year, as he is the only one who has maintained his (high) level for the entire season.

Well deserved POTY even though his role and position under Maresca this season doesn't come close to using his best assets, and he has unfairly been denied at least two cracking goals. He has the potential to be right up there with Wise, Essien and Kante as one of the best CMs the club has ever had.

Looks every bit a 110m pound player. Had we got him for the original price of ~75m he'd be an all-time bargain.

That second half performance was utterly brilliant. We need to tie him down for 10+3 years minimum.

Square pegs in round holes - a consistent theme from Maresca.

Caicedo - Beast of a box to box midfielder, to the tune of £110m - played by Maresca as a RB

Palmer - Young player of the year when played high and wide, played by Jokesca deep and central.

James - Best RWB in the world, played by Noclueesca as a DM

Nkunku - World class 2nd striker, winning bundesliga golden boot and POTY, played by Fraudesca as a lone target man

Gusto - Fantastic overlapping wingback, played by pepelini as an inverted rb

Jackson - a braindead fraud of a 'footballer', with 1 league goal in 5 months, clearly out of his depth and shouldn't be anywhere near the team. Annointed as Maresca's dream striker.

Sanchez - a goalkeeper who has consistently cost us chances and points, who cant deal with the pressure of the ball at his feet - but who Maresca keeps playing, and asking him not to go long.

A brilliant season from him. Totally deserves POTY. Have to admit I felt he was awful for most of last season but he has completely turned it around, and changed my opinion, even playing as a RB within the God awful "Marescaball" system.

For me he will probably never reach the awesome brilliance, the completeness of Kante. Or have the sheer power and physical dominance of prime Essien. But I really need to stop making those comparisons, because Caicedo is still an excellent player and we are lucky to have him.
