How can Silva get an 8 when he was totally at fault for their goal?

He had to push up and attempt the tackle to try and stop the counter. You can't really blame him for the goal when it still needed a world class bending cross to beat the defence. That would be like those people that blamed Kante for Modric's brilliant pass against us last season.

You picked the wrong team to support mate!

He must not have been a Chelsea fan the past 10 year at least. 😅

Excellent win tonight. Bottom of the group when potter took over. Now group winners with one game to spare.

Full credit to Potter and the players. Incredible turnaround

Felt we were comfortable for the majority of that game, a couple of Kepa errors to claim in the air aside we dealt with them well.

Sesko was clearly a massive cut above everyone else in their side and gave us trouble, Chalobah adapted and dealt with him quite well after a tougher start against him.

Clearly we should have won this game by a comfortable margin, good chances wasted by Aubameyang, Havertz and Pulisic.

Job done though, most important thing.

I do enjoy how Broja just harasses the opposition, they really did not enjoy him being on, was funny watching watching defender get irriated as he kept blocking the keepers kick out late on.

Credit to GP and the team for getting through.  Still not too excited over the football I am watching, especially the slow pace and the consistent passing backwards when there is open space in front of them. Both goals well taken.   I'm still puzzled as to why Sterling starts when he should be sat next to Ziyech on the bench.  I like Connor in midfield as he is always looking forward and he and Kovacic worked well together I thought.  Jorgi was mopping up but still far too many short backwards passes.   Not embracing CC yet or PEA and Pulisic ATM.   Roll on the weekend with another tough game against Brighton.

Positives:

- Havertz  we want to see more of that!

- Pulisic, dribbled and actually ran at people

- Kovacic, great goal

- Trev. Another excellent display

Negatives:

- Sterling. Major dip in form since Potter took over

- The first goal was against the run of play. No shots until 20mins

- Didn’t kill the game (again) and allowed them back in

So happy we got through, although we really should have won by 3 or 4. We created a lot for a change, sloppy finishes and good GK kept them in it. To the players credit, their goal didn't take us down, we kept going at them. The curse of the 9 is welly and truly back, Auba contributed nothing and couldn't even tuck away those easy chances, remind me of the last guy we had. We had control of the midfield and set up good chances for a change, all of them played well. Defensively we conceded 1 goal out of their 1 real chance, the handball could go 50-50, fortunately we got our way this time. Gallagher's movement was great, think he could be our 'signing' of the season. Not a fan of 2 attackers as WBs, I know we are short in numbers, but we have a 50M LB and the trusted Azpi and RLC on the bench, so it's not like we are that desperate. Sterling is meant to be the one solve our scoring problems, now he's not even getting into the box, has to be addressed.

Never in a million years it hit the back of his hand when he was facing the opposite way.
