Result is almost irrelevant, don't need another cup game to mess up our schedule, so in a way it's almost glad we are out. A game is this is more about performance, even I haven't watched the whole game, judging from what I came across there wasn't much of a performance or improvement. The real test will be Newcastle, they are perfectly setup to put us out of our misery. I dare to say the worst is yet to come

I would argue the real test is against Bournemouth when the league restarts. Even if we manage to get a decent result at Newcastle we won't be able to build on that. Potter needs to make sure we are ready for the restart and actually look like a team.

If that was James he would have shot. Azpi passes it, badly.

It’s the fact his pass was so poor, either give it to Sterling or it needs to go to the back post. There was no one but a city player where he passed it. I love Azpi and always will but he’s so passed it now it’s hard to watch. It’s like watching Ivanovic at the end.

This game is all about Omari Hutchinson, we poached this guy from Arsenal, so he could what?, not even make the bench in dead rubber CL games?, on the bench for Brighton thrashing.. and first round Mickey Mouse cup games? against a side always bound to beat us anyway. Disgrace.

First thing to say is a doff of the cap to Lewis Hall. The only player in our team tonight who looked like he wouldn't be out of place in the City team.

Other than that Potter wouldn't have learned much that he didn't already know.

1. Koulibaly looked a good defender in an era when Serie A was relatively weak.

2. Broja is a bang average striker. His reputation grew amongst some Chelsea fans was due to wanting something other than Aubameyang or Havertz up front but he really isn't someone to get excited about

3. Ziyech is good for the odd flick but there is more chance of James Maclean getting a knighthood than Ziyech breaking into a jog

4. Mount is horrendously out of form

5. Mendy has as much confidence with the ball at his feet as Christy Brown

6. Pulisic probably looked good taking on Tyson Rockefeller 3rd at Fishybob High School when he was 16 but he'd struggle to dribble past Roland Browning.

7. RLC should probably be a shopkeeper

The final decision and final pass in this team is probably the worst in the PL. How many times do we utterly waste a chance with a sh*t pass in the final 3rd, or the wrong decision? Players like Havertz, Pulisic, Mount, etc... haven't got a footballing braincell between them.

Fully agree

we know we are in trouble when we say 2-0 beating is a decent performance from us.

People (rightly) said the 2-0 win over Villa was a sh*t performance, why can't it work both ways?

I think many were anticipating it could have been much worse. At least we created a decent amount of chances, but as usual we wasted them. Last season we suffered 2 soulless 1-0 defeats to City last season when we created next to nothing.

I'm not sure on the hype of Hutchinson. Looks no different than Musonda or Hudson-Odoi, so hardly what we need right now. People were calling got Broja and he hasn't shown much in the past games he's played, so I'd slow the roll on these youngsters.

Tuchel had 18 months and still couldn’t have named his best XI. He’s gone, move on please.

I disagree, don't forget he wanted Rudiger to sign a new deal and not sure about Christensen but you'd assume so. He also had so many injuries to deal with like Potter. Difference is Tuchel got us top 4 with long absences from Chilwell, James, Kanté, Kovacic, Werner, Lukaku. Heck even Jorginho who's usually fit all the time was even out for a bit. Plus many more, now give Tuchel a fully fit squad he beats anyone in the world.

His best team was:

                                    Mendy

               Azpilicueta     Silva       Rudiger

James        Kanté         Jorginho          Chillwell

                      Mount                Werner

                                    Havertz

Say what you wanted about Werner, but Tuchel's system meant he got chances now it feels like none of our attackers consistently get clear cut chances like turbo Timo. That team won the UCL a slight tweak to positions but it was that 11 plus Christensen, Pulisic and whoever else came on.

Agreed. I don't get this one at all. Why not bring him on? especially at 2-0 down.

Ah yes, because right now we need Havertz & Sterling to get their 20 minutes on the pitch rather than a youngster, great stuff. Exactly “what we need right now” sure sure

We were well beaten in every measure today. It looks City just won as they wished.

No we weren't, City's best player was their keeper.
