December 27, 20223 yr Three points! I had forgotten about that happy feeling. Edited December 27, 20223 yr by Valerie
December 27, 20223 yr Kepa - 6 - Never had much to do, but was in control of everything asked of him James - 7 - Was having a solid game without being spectacular, injury curse struck again. Silva - 8 - Brilliant throughout, one slight mistake with a suicide pass in the first half. Koulibaly - 6 - A few unforced errors in the first half. Decent defensively. Cucurella - 7 - Solid game, would like to see him be more effective going forward, he was great at it with Brighton. Jorginho - 6 - Quiet game, nothing bad, nothing great. Zakaria - 6 - Good first half, faded badly in the second. Mount - 7 - Very good first half, excellent goal too. Pulisic - 6 - Same as Zakaria, good first half and then faded in the second. Sterling - 7 - Very good first half, tried to make things happen in the 2nd half, but nobody in attack seemed to be on the same wavelength. Havertz - 7 - Looked up for it in the first half, took sleeping tablets at half time again. subs: Azpi - 6 - Doesn't have the legs to do the work James does, but was solid defensively. Gallagher, Aubameyang, Chalobah - 5 - Game was dead when they came on.

I've got a feeling it comes down to a combination of him being a main benefactor to Lampard being sacked and seen as extension to Sarri. Petty sh*t, I'm considering quitting, in all honesty I'm tired of it.

Until he's branded a "sh*tter" 18 days after a big triumph with 12 positive reactions it's not in the same league I'm afraid.
December 27, 20223 yr Positives - a win, some faster passing in first half, two nice goals, good seeing Chelsea back post World Cup. Havertz, Mount, Cucurella and Silva notables to me. Concerns - terrible second half, just did nothing. Players don’t look fit, they look tired already. Same slow problems and lack of movement. Midfield an issue that we all know needs to be addressed. Another injury - not even surprising now. Sterling - no end product and the number of times I saw him walking, simply not good enough at all.
December 27, 20223 yr Fairly routine win. Took our foot off the gas in the second half. Would’ve liked us to kick on and get a few more goals but the result more important than anything else at the mo. Mount, Jorginho, Zakaria, Havertz all excellent for me. Shoutout to Cucu as I thought he played well as well. Hopefully James injury isn’t bad.

December 27, 20223 yr Author Small steps in the right direction is all you can expect at the moment. Reece James adds about 20% to our strength when he plays, but that means we lose 20% when he goes off.
December 27, 20223 yr If we have hopes of top four then Bournemouth are a team we should be beating, but we can't forget this is a team we hadn't beaten for the past 3 fixtures against, so to beat them today is well needed and overdue.
December 27, 20223 yr Game of 2 1/2s one with Reece one without, I know which one I preferred…. Pully got an opportunity not much from him, Sterling w assist at least didn’t put on his shooting boots though as usual, in all fairness more goals should of gone in for the lovely build up play on show overall Under pressure at end felt a better side would of punished , overall a big improvement over pre WC form, Potter had to deliver today and he has done
December 27, 20223 yr The first half was excellent, I didn't enjoy the 2nd much at all. It was all very similar to what we have seen before. I was really hoping one of the worst parts of our game wouldn't show up on the first day or at all after the break, but it's still very much there. Our lot doesn't seem to have the legs to go again after a decent half of football. It really makes me wonder about the fitness side of our squad, it could explain all of the injuries too. They cannot seem to put in more than 45 minutes of intense football without either breaking down or their game falling apart.

December 27, 20223 yr Good 1st half but felt the 2nd half lost it’s fizz when Reece went off. Important that we won tonight though as we need a good 2nd half of the season.
December 27, 20223 yr First half - excellent, probably the best half of football this season in the league. Second half - not as good but still we were in complete control until the last 15 minutes. Probably it's only due to lack of concentration rather than fitness. All in all, it was a very nice day. Fair play to everyone, especially the front trio who were creating trouble every time they got the ball. Hopefully it's nothing serious with James. 3 points and a clean sheet, just what we needed. Edit: dodgy refereeing throughout the whole game... Edited December 27, 20223 yr by wizardous

I can't work it out because I look at Brighton and they're full of running, all game long. Potter and his team have been here long enough now, why do these players all look knackered after 50-60 mins. Gallagher was grimacing whilst stretching before coming on for Christ's sake.
December 27, 20223 yr We need a proper backup right back - somewhat like the cucurella and Chilwell balance on the left. I fear James will never be a 50 game a season man (his look said it all as well, looks like a repeat).

No doubt we'll pay over the odds again though cos everyone can see what we need

It's interesting because the ones affected the most seemed to be the players that have been at the club the longest. Sterling still looked full of running by the time he was bought off, but Mount, Havertz, Pulisic, Jorginho, they had all faded quite badly. They became sloppy and you could see that they didn't want to run as hard as they were in the first half. I don't know what we have been doing with these players, but they certainly don't look as fit as other squads in the league.
December 27, 20223 yr Its Bournemouth we where playing. A top 4 manager goes in for the kill when on top, we are well off being a top team with this guy in charge. Last 20 min team where dead on their feet just kicking the ball clear aimlessly We look like the poorest team in top half of the table. This team reflects the attitude of its manager
December 27, 20223 yr A very good first half and we should have won by more tonight. Pleased with the clean sheet too. Thought James was excellent until he went off. Good performances by Mount,Jorginho,Sterling and Silva.
