I think this player, I think most of these players could have been, can be major successes but what these recruitment clowns just cannot fathom is that throwing an entire team of u23 players all into one team has never worked and never will. The most frustrating thing is that there is empirical data to prove the point as well. Look at the results of the PL u21 teams in the EFL Trophy each year. Not just us. Everyone. There is a reason why Guardiola hasn't thrown all his kids into one side. Same with Klopp, same with anyone. You integrate 1, 2 or 3 players into an established structure so that they grow into it. Surrounding Badiashile with the kids we have will provide him with no guidance. Put Badiashile between Cole and Terry with Mikel in front and he would be a different proposition altogether.
December 25, 20232 yr It would help if we played a consistent back line. And Silva has to move on. He also made a bad blunder just didn’t result in a goal.

It's not a coincidence that every single one of our defenders has been looking worse and worse as time passed by, Poch is bad at defensive coaching, I'm convinced of it. I completely agree with you. Poch need to go back to 343. Put two pressing 10, two very good wb and all timer dm, you can then just throw almost any cb and it just works.
December 29, 20232 yr Very dissapointing this season so far , thought he looked very composed and all round good centre back in what I saw from him last season. Silva might be ancient and a few mistakes coming into his game this season but he’s still been the best centre back by a considerable distance this season.

If we go 3-4-3 there is the advantage that Colwill could be played in his preferred position, but also Maatsen may be an option as a Left Wingback. I don't think he is good enough defensively as a traditional Left Back.

I have seen this with a lot of players returning.. the adrenaline carries them in the first couple of matches but there is certainly a dip after that as their sharpness actually drops dramatically before building up again.. the errors he has made aren’t what we saw last season or majority of the last year..not bothered about him he will come good… Disassi worries me instead..

If you are Mudryk and Madueke fans, you probably don't want poch to play 343. If you are Colwill and Maatsen fans, 343 is probably an interesting option
February 1, 20242 yr He had a good start for us, but since his injury, he's been awful. He's so slow, and for such a big guy, he doesn't look very strong. He should never have lost the battle for the Liverpool's 4th goal last night.

See how he does there, if he can recover from his injury or not.

February 1, 20242 yr Dreadful last night, absolutely dreadful. Twas a performance of Bakayoko v Watford proportions. Where is Bakayoko these days? Reckon he could get into this current side and not make it any worse.....................
February 1, 20242 yr You can guarantee this scouting team would have signed Bakayoko on a 7 year deal if he'd been at Monaco at 21/22 or whatever he was, this summer. And we'd be led to believe he's a quality youngster just not performing cos the rest of them aren't performing. Very few promising young players actually end up making it to the top. Unfortunately, most of the ones we've signed, won't.

February 2, 20242 yr I still have trust in Badiashile. To me, he can become the best defender at the club. But he has been shocking this season.
