Enzo Fernandez - Officially a Blue!

Featured Replies

Moving Enzo forwards to cover for the injuries to Nkunku and Chukwuemeka, and fit Gallagher into the side, hasn't really worked, and neither has the obvious pairing of Enzo and Caicedo as a midfield two ...

So similar problem as we had with Kante/Kovacic/Jorginho really ... all good players but there isn't a pivot combo that really works yet ... and whatever combo ypou come up with is a bit lacking in defensive screening and assists/goals at the other end.

Hopefully something will develop in the second half of the season, as we desperately need the midfield to click.

Maybe he should move Caicedo forwards and let Enzo sit back and ping those delicious long balls like he used to under Graham Potter?

I’m really starting to lose patience with Enzo. I’m not sure what he’s bringing to this midfield.

We’ve spent £100M+ on a player that doesn’t look any better than Billy Gilmour…

He had a pretty good 1st half and some decent 2nd minutes as well, he looked tired in the last 20min. Of course he should do more than that, but so should the rest of the players.

Really poor when trying to see out the game today. Just kept losing possession. Seems very slow and weak. Let's put it down to experience at the moment, but I was expecting more after all the hype and pricetag.

He was clearly spent in the final 20 minutes. Surprised he was left on. Before that, I thought he had a good game.

Agree glad the Enzo in the hole experiment is over..

I didn’t think so. Still running full engine both ends. He really isn’t a player that gets spent.

Just still lacking that maturity to really close games out.

Think he and Caicedo will be excellent players for us. With the right coach and time together, they will develop well.

They may well need a Maka type player to unlock the best of them.

I thought Enzo was our best player today along with Palmer.

The Billy Gilmour thing, yes agreed, he is starting to look a star at Brighton, is on Tuchel.

He and Caicedo are starting to click. Slowly but surley they are gaining understanding and getting better.

Really good test for them both against a very good Villa team and midfield.

Yeah, its slowly coming together, then Conor enters the room!  Kidding ofcourse, Conor is a great workhorse, but they tend to be better when he isn't playing.

Oh the really interesting one will be if Lavia ever gets fit. Conor I think is rather clear the owners would like to sell him. Not Lavia, not yet.

If for nothing else (and there is a lot else) I'd like to think that Conor's hamstrings not being made of paper tishue might go in his favour.

On Enzo, when he's on song we are a better team, he justsee's the game and the pitch that much quicker. He does however seem the go to sub at 60 mins

He will look a much better player in a better team.

Problem for him is he needs a side to pay a steep price for Clearlake to let him leave.

I think he is mid range player, nothing more.

Still waiting to see another big name Gvardiol to do something. Or Pep will kick him off
