We're going for the AS Monaco's Badiashile, a CB. Not sure why would we go for another defender but that's what's reported...

We need a midfield player desperately, anyone and their mother can see that.

From the feedback I have, unless anything changes suddenly the player will only be released by paying the full clause. 

With the previous president I have no doubts that the player would be here already, but Rui is a bit different, he's a Benfica fanatic and cares more about the quality of the team than the financial part. He will eventually have to sell someone, we need to sell basically every season to balance the accounts, but this season is going pretty well for us and dissemble the team now could be chaotic. 

The good thing about this is being able to keep a stunning player at least until summer. The down side could be the negative effect this could cause in him, as he had other expectations for his career at this precise point. And the fact that without this money we cannot make major adjustments in other positions.

Not sure anyone is blaming the club for anything. Just highlighting that nowadays there is an entire media industry populated with fking idiots like that Kaveh Solekhol bloke who all act as if they are in the know when it its all a load of media BS created by kids and idiots on the internet with nothing better to do.

Benfica is under no pressure to sell, and we'd be mad to pay his release clause. Back to the usual Rice rumour.

Still no agreement between Chelsea and Benfica for Enzo Fernandez. Talks are not solely on a payment structure but the overall package. Yesterday Benfica conceded on a multi-payment structure but only if #CFC made a lump-sum first payment covering a large part of the fee.

Either way, the parties are no closer to a deal than than Monday. Nothing is verbally agreed yet or signed. And sources indicate #CFC have never wanted to trigger Fernandez’s release clause.

Chelsea must decide now whether to make a counter offer on terms, go against their position and trigger release clause or walk away. Talks have not ceased (they remain advanced) but Benfica, who have a divided board on this, are yet to fully approve any deal #CFC have offered.

There is plenty of time left in the window, but the longer it drags on the more likely Benfica are to lock in their ‘release clause or nothing’ stance. Chelsea’s next move is now very important if they are to get a deal done on their terms.

Sources have always indicated if a deal of this magnitude is not favourable to #CFC (knowing the fee would always be above current market value before they bid) they wouldn’t be held to ransom.

And just to clarify, Benfica’s tactic, which I reference above, would be to get a larger proportion of any agreed number outside the release clause in the first instalment rather than seeking a bigger transfer fee.

If it has collapsed, at least it’s happened early in the window. Gives us time to try and identify and buy other targets. 

Given the amount of information that’s come out, I wonder if it’s smoke and mirrors by Benfica to put pressure on Chelsea. 

By all accounts, Enzo has had his head turned and wants to leave. I’m sure Benfica wkll be aware of that.

I don't think so. He has been saying for months that he would only leave by activating the clause.

Beside, Benfica does not have any sort of interest in delaying this, as we had to find a substitute for Enzo, and in this transfer window this would be a much harder task for us than it is for you.

Not sure i believe any of that either. One of the blokes in the summer refused to train apparenly in order to push through the move. Alvarez or soemone. Yeah righto.
