January 7, 20233 yr ,As long as we play the ball sideways, back and forth while waiting for all the opposition players and the referee to get behind the ball before trying find out attackers, our club will continue be death of strikers. We can buy all the Nkunkus in the world it won't matter one bit

And there was plenty of "slow sideways" games in Lampard's first season, especially at Stamford Bridge. I think you could make an argument of Lampard mismanaging the squad, he completely forgot about Giroud, till the point Tammy got injured after January and then he started playing him. That was after all Tammy's first PL season and he probably overplayed which probably had something to do with him getting injured.

Ehm "Your not Enzo anymore, your not Enzo anymore Your Jorginho, your Jorginho, your Jorginho evermore, your not Enzo anymore" 😉
January 7, 20233 yr If this is dead in the water, as always expected, it wouldn't surprise me if we try to do a Lukaku to Inter as a permanent as part of a deal for Barella.
January 7, 20233 yr If we want him we need to pay the full amount. Seems like that is something we are not willing to do. Fair enough

January 8, 20233 yr Looks like Boehly has taken a parting shot at Benfica, using them CIA links to uncover a match fixing conspiracy 😅 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11611713/Benfica-investigation-MATCH-FIXING.html

January 8, 20233 yr Author Just now, Argo said: Same was said about Casemiro going to United. Casemiro won everything there was. He said he wanted to try the PL and United the only team putting in an effort (Thanks Tuchel). Enzo is 21 and is coming off a WC win and promising Benfica campaign. He will want his next move to be an established one and we are bloody miles from that.

Alvarez is already there so he'll have a friend waiting and Gundogan leaving makes it all perfect for him to join Pep which in turn makes our own rebuilding even harder.

January 8, 20233 yr I know City are dodgy but they have got the club set up brilliantly. Their scouting is incredible. Rarely get it wrong.
January 9, 20233 yr Really sorry to see how hard at @Argohas taken this ordeal. I know he mentioned how highly he rates Enzo but did not expect such anger to be in his posts about it. Us having incompetent people at the top mate is horrible for us all. Lukaku already did a number on us and having Sterling and Auba come in this season have been horrible for me too.
January 9, 20233 yr Enzo might be a good player. But certainly not. 100m plus one. He wasn't setting the world ablaze before the world cup and certainly won't do so after it. The fact that Benfica wants full payment of his fees upfront should also be a red flag for us. If he comes fine, if he doesn't, fine. There are others players out there we can get for far less. Besides Zakaria hasn't look bad at all in his recent games

The news relate only to the fact that they only want to keep the juridic process opened, probably just to clarify that they did not forgot. They can keep searching for the next 100 years and won't find nothing, in fact there's nothing left to search. The downside is that we'll have our name associated to this crap anywhere.
January 9, 20233 yr So do we think this is dead in the water? We've already unsettled the player and broke a promise. I hope this is one that happens.

The silence either means we're making quiet movements or it's over. Sadly I suspect it could be the latter. That being said it's still early in the window, my issue or worry is that after unsettling the player and vexing Benfica they may not want to do business

To be honest I think all the usual journos have just been operating based on guess work for this one.
