Three times our goalie just stood there and didn't try to stop the ball..seriously something dodgy going on there.

Also thought the shot in the Forest game was stoppable. It might be time to give Mendy a chance IMO. It's not like our team is doing well in the final third so a "ball playing" keeper isn't needed.

Kepa - 4 - Totally at fault for the goal. He has to claim it, but he leaves it for a tap in. Did the same thing not too long after and we almost conceded again.

Cucurella - 4 - He looked positive in the first half, but he put in a complete disasterclass in the 2nd half. Panics defensively, especially against top sides.

Koulibaly - 6 - Better than usual. Luckily for him, he didn't get into many 1v1 situations.

Silva - 7 - Standard Thiago Silva

Azpilicueta - 6 - Better, but can't do both attacking and defending.

Zakaria - 6 - Some nice moments here and there.

Kovacic - 6 - Tried to make things happen, a mix of good and bad from him.

Ziyech - 6 - Same as Kovacic, tried to make things happen, a mix of good and bad.

Pulisic - 5 - Injured

Sterling - 5 - Only played 2 minutes before getting injured.

Havertz - 5 - Movement decent at times, but so many poor decisions throughout.

Subs:

Aubameyang - 2 - Dreadful again. Add to the collection of terrible signings.

Chukwuemeka - 7 - Very positive throughout, had a good game. Has potential to be the player I thought Loftus-Cheek would turn into

Hall - 7 - Tried to make things happen, very positive when he came on. Actually looked a better player than Cucurella.

Gallagher - 5 - Worked hard, but zero quality.

Hutchinson - 3 - Too soon for him, not ready for this level yet.

It certainly feels like, taking resources and reasonable expectations into account, we have the worst performing side in the league this year.  Obviously we're not (yet) battling against relegation but our form and our overall play, especially going forward absolutely stinks.

Decent performance, result was better than I expected, although to be fair City was never in danger. The game was lost in the 15-20 minutes into the second half, City made the changes, took control of the game and we couldn't get out of the box despite good efforts to defend waves of attack, changes were desperately needed but never came until they scored. By then, it was far too late, and their GK didn't have to make a save to see the game out. There were some good performances out there, Zarkaria looked the player we been missing in midfield, 2 central defenders were solid all game, and Gallagher changed the mood as soon as he came on, which is why he should have been on when the score was level. Not going overboard about this loss, we are not even close to City's level, the teams we should worry about are the likes of Brighton and Fulham

Well, we did play better tonight. Some positives with the younger players, also Zakaria (should look for a perm deal as a decent midfield option). We need a top quality CF still though, it’s obvious but we are as usual being linked with every other position.

the final positive is that I don’t need to listen to the scouse leccy mouse any more tonight too.

That was not a good look on Potter's face just now.

I think Todd thought he’d employed Graham Potter but he actually got…

Surely potter in trouble now

Not really...was never expected to get 3 points from this game especially with the amount of injuries, which are piling up each game.  What do we have now..Chillwell, James, Kante, Fofana, Mount, RLC, Pulisic, Sterling, ball boy, tea lady etc.  He'll keep getting a pass while he hasn't got a full squad, if he lasts that long.  He was forced to make early changes which actually helped him.   Needs to keep playing the youngsters, they did us proud today.

I am waiting on @Scott Harris gradings but much as the youngsters were a breath of fresh I suspect the verdict will be the Hutchinson is too soon and will get bullied if there is no confident team around him, which I agree with.

Hall should be challenging for a regular start.

I thought Zakaria was quality. If there is a purchase option we should take it up 100%. I really like him as a player.

He was the clear standout for me in our team he kept giving city players the run around. I hope he stays fit and we continue to push his minutes to get fully match sharp.

Zakaria-Kovacic worked brilliantly, I thought the former was motm.

Back 4 did okay defensively, bar that lapse in concerntration which cost the goal.

No quality going forward though, Havertz did okay, but was found wanting in the key moments.

Youngsters were the other highlight with Zakaria. Chukwuemeka looks comfortable at this level, as does Hall.

Brilliant that Hutchinson made his debut, tough game to come into, and I'm sure there will be more to come.

Gallagher's work ethic was excellent, but with no real quality on the ball.

Thought we would get hammered, so that was a fairly pleasing performance. It really feels like the good old days, when expectations were on their arse.

Why? We are building. Losing to a 3 time champion is expected

Building? Building what exactly

there is no structure or planning to our transfers at all nothing.
we sell / loan our two forwards ( ok they didn’t score ) and buy defenders then wonder why we can’t win games ? It’s utter madness

300m  to be half as good as we were last year

its crazy

Agreed.

I quite liked Zakaria again, just wish he would take more control of the game rather than deferring to others around him.

You can add Mendy as well!

Only caught glimpses so if anyone could fill me in would be appreciated.

How was our performance does the scoreline flatter us or was it a close game?

Was Potter proactive?

Did we create chances or were we passive?

I heard Raheem picked up an injury did it look bad?

I think,if we play the way we did today we will be fine.
