Lets all be happy with a 1-0 loss to an out of form City who Everton took a point off last week We are crap never looked like we could  score and as usual no creativity from midfield.Special mention for Connor Gallagher who is pure sh*te and just runs around and bumps into people

Thought much of the same to be honest. We worked a bit harder for once, but they aren't getting praise for that, that should be the standard every single week. But we were completely outplayed in the second half and didn't test Ederson once. The standard of our game is terrible. I wasn't overly impressed with Zakaria either like others were. He was alright here and there, did some decent defensive work, but he didn't offer much more than that. His performance was nothing more impressive than I have seen from many mid table players playing against top opposition, and we should be aiming much higher than this. We have sunk so far this season, we look completely toothless. I have never seen a Chelsea team as bad as this one. We'll be lucky to finish in the top 10.

Also thought the shot in the Forest game was stoppable. It might be time to give Mendy a chance IMO. It's not like our team is doing well in the final third so a "ball playing" keeper isn't needed.

Mendy is injured and may require surgery. We're just that lucky this season.

Thought we done ok tonight to be honest. Crap result but we all expected to lose, but the performance I thought was alright,  barring the 20 mins at the start of the second half.

It was obvious that City had another gear to go into in the second half and we just didn’t match them for that period in the second half. If we had then maybe we don’t lose that game.

Cucurella for me did really well in the first half but was all at sea in the second half. Not sure what happened there. Kepa was 100% at fault for the goal which is a shame because up until that point he’d had a solid game.

I was really impressed with Chucky when he came on, thought he had a really good game. Also thought Kovacic and Zakaria looked decent as a midfield two. Hopefully the kids who came on tonight start against them on Sunday and we give them a full 90.

Hall had a great chance at the end and maybe he should’ve squared it. Not going to hold that against him though as he’s looked really promising every time he’s featured.

Kepa - 4 - Cost us the goal, then did the exact same thing again. Just like under Lampard when he never came out for anything. Looks like he hasn't solved that issue.
Cucurella - 4 - Won a few duels and set us on the way, but also torn apart on numerous occasions. Didn't help that he was exposed without much cover, but shouldk have done much better.
Koulibaly - 7 - Decent for a change
Silva - 7 - Good
Azpilicueta - 5 - Standard these days. No pace any more and offers nothing going forward.
Kovacic - 5 - Frustrating
Zakiara - 7.5 - Good showing for the most part. Lost the ball in dangerous areas a few times though.
Sterling - N/A
Havertz - 3 - Doesn't have a good position. No vision whatsoever for a pass.
Pulisic - 4 - Not on long enough to do much really
Ziyech - 5 - Meh.

Subs:
Chuckeumeka - 6 - Glimpses of quality
Aubameyang - 1 - Literally like playing with 10 players having this guy out there. We spent £15m on this? I would offer more.
Gallagher - 4 - Can't pass. Just runs around.
Hall - 7 - Only real danger came down his side
Hutchinson - 3 - Was expecting more, even if just a few dribbles, but just did the same as the rest of them - backwards/sideways passes.

I mean how long we gonna stick with this guy, if we saw some progression some implementation of ideas manifesting anywhere then  maybe, but he basically took a CL winning squad and the job of an elite manager and turned us into mid table drivel.

sell auberang - havertz - kante - azpi - pulisic - koulibaly - gallagher - cucurella - change scouts .  play mendy again , play hall 90mins , try some more academy players . potter must tell  us his plan , i dont see it.

If he was asked whether the team is playing to his expectations, I wonder what he'd say. No sign of a plan, I think Potter does need to set some objectives for the rest of the season so we can at least see if there is a plan.

Haha, I love the contrast of your post and your user name. Lol.

Bang on by the way.

Hutchinson - 3 - Too soon for him, not ready for this level yet.

With Hutchinson, the real opportunities were pre-World cup, Potter fumbled the bag with this one. Hutchinson should have taken more risks in the game, sure; but he should have already had games under his belt before being thrown in against a machine like City.

I have 1976 -1980 there were some awful teams, players not the same standard as today's though, but Scott in the modern era you are correct. If this trajectory continues bottom 3 by May or sooner  😅?

Zakaria situation is like the somewhat attractive girl in an office of only men becoming a straight 10 in that environment, I just hope the board still understand what needs to be done with that midfield.

I like that analogy. He's ok and has his good moments but we literally don't have a decent holding midfielder so be default he's an improvement on nothing.

Lets take positives, such an improvement on the last game, kept Harland almost as useless as Auba, i've been banging on about Hall, breath of young air, Gallagher infectious enthusiasm, a decent striker and we might of won this one..

I think the first half performance looked good because City where terrible.  Any decent side would have taken advantage, but we don’t look like we believe we can score never mind actually score.  At least some of the youngsters added a bit of spark to a team that’s been devoid of energy for 12 months.

Someone please take a chance with a pass or just bloody shoot for gods sake.

Shame about the result but the performance was better. Showed abit more heart and fight even if we didn’t create much. We may have nicked a point on another day.

Can we just get rid of Auba, Ziyech, Pulisic etc. They offer absolutely nothing. Play the kids!

I actually thought the team that Eddie was putting together was young and exciting. Then the farce over the company car and as usual it all went tits up for us. But you right, John Neal was an oasis in a desert of sh*tness. The seven gifted to Nottingham Forest still resonates with me after all these years.
