Player quality is only the issue when we're against a top 3-4 side. We keep getting steamrolled by sides with lesser player quality than us. That is the manager. And the higherups. Something is rotten. Smells like buttfungus.

Maybe we would have had a few extra points, but the way he started the season I'm not so confident. But he's gone, so who else? Wouldn't be as offensive? We were one of the best teams in the league in terms of chances created under Tuchel, under Potter we're not one of the worst. When we couldn't score under Tuchel he got the blame, yet now we're even worse under Potter yet it's only the player's fault,

Is the current team we have available genuinely better, though? I don't actually think so. Firstly, I would say most of the teams above us have better attacks, so is it really surprising that they are above us? Our defence is also incredibly old: Azpilicueta (finished), Silva and Koulibaly (looks very poor from what I have seen). It is easy to attack because it is slow and frail.

The club deciding on making Jorginho the lynchpin of the midfielder is one of the biggest mistakes of the last decade. He's only good with Kante beside him (and Kovacic sometimes) How he's managed to survive while other people were ousted from the club is beyond me.
January 12, 20233 yr No doubt there will be the normal Potter out frothing at the mouth after that but, for me, tonight is not on Potter. Don't think he got much wrong. This one is on the players. Awful defending for the first, awful goalkeeping for the second. Stupidity by Felix for the red and yet another piss poor performance by Kovacic, Koulibaly, Mount, Chalobah, and Havertz. Then Jorginho and Ziyech came on and you knew it was playing with 8 men time. Chukuwuemka has to get a decent run now and I think the criticism of Hall was over the top tonight. Yes he lost the ball which eventually resulted in the opener but I felt he, along with Felix, was the only player who was trying to create anything when we had 11 men. I'd stick with him ahead of Cucurella. Really hope Zakaria has only suffered a tweak because he is head and shoulders ahead of Jorginho for the rest of the season.
January 12, 20233 yr He needs to go, the red card isn’t his fault but his team selections and tactics are baffling clearly not cut out for this level, rip the bandage off now and get a real world class coach in and start again

How can players have respect for a manager who has won less than them, and has a 'small club' mentality to approach and tactics? Moyes was a much better manager than Potter both at united and at Everton were he achieved much more than Poteer on a smaller budget. Potter feels more like Roy Hodgson at Liverpool to me a tier below Moyes

January 12, 20233 yr I don't think Potter has much option other than to turn on the players tonight. You can clearly see with a number of players, they are just not playing for him

I always see people say this but is it really true? Other than James, Kante and Silva, most of our players would be benchwarmers on most of our rival's team. Our squad is just expensive it isn't quality.
