Well I wouldn’t go that far after one performance but yes this is a much better improvement.

But let's see if Captain Just(ice) can indeed save Carney, though think most on here rate him already. Probably needs to fly to Clearlake HQ.

Superb game. Most direct player we have and should see a lot of minutes this year. His form end of last season was strong, carried thru pre season and great to see today. Stay humble lad, and push yourself for more. 

The moment they took the plunge and put Sterling on alert, I felt like Noni wasn’t leaving. That whole argument, to me, centered around moving a player if you bring in Neto … and Noni was the option that would have been easiest financially.

But he has stepped up the way the owners, front office and everyone else has asked players to step up: “make yourself unsellable”

Ive always said I have no issue with the model, in fact I like it, if the best players stay and we can make profit on the ones that don’t. Some teams keep their 20 to 30m value starters and sell the players they can get 85m for to survive. We want to be the opposite. Keep the players who could command 80+m and sell the 20-30’s steadily.

Noni is a gem: that rare athlete that truly relishes having weight on his shoulders and taking on challenges. 

He has finally grown a right foot.

I used to give Noni some stick as he didn't have any end product, but blimey he has turned it around! The chemistry between him and Palmer is probably the key!

We better not sell Noni this week or I'm rage quitting this club!

You could see hints of him having a powerful finish from inside the box last season, it was always going to be a lot of mixed performances but he's the player Maresca should invest in, just more game time is needed.

But I actually think his attitude helps his game. So many of our players seem scared to try something, to take someone on…. But Noni seems to believe he can do it, and therefore tries - even if sometimes it goes wrong. 
 

Compare this to Sterling, who seems to never take people on.

He tries sometimes, just fails 99% of the time.

I’ve quite liked him since the first few times I saw him. Like many of the signings in the last couple years he’s looked good in flashes/moments. Hopefully he can become a consistent threat.

Watching games in a mirror can be confusing.

Alternatively, he has obviously worked very hard on using his right foot. Making him less predictable in the process. Now the oppo know he's capable of more than just cutting inside onto his left and shooting.
