Mykhailo Mudryk signs for Chelsea

Featured Replies

He doesnt fit the system he probably only suits counter attacking teams and if hes used it'll be as a sub against tired opposition

Assuming the conservative estimate of Mudryk's transfer fee as £62m (it's not like he achieved any of those bonuses), on an 8-year contract, his book value in January will be around £46m. If the reports of his £100k/wk wages are also true, he is one of the hardest players in the squad to shift.

Like Conte to Batshuayi, Maresca has called out I think what we all knew deep down and that he is that he doesn't have a great mental grasp of the game. I don't know if you can really coach or teach that at this level and at the age he is now. He will get better but it will never justify his fee.

If I remember rightly about £22m of the £62m initial fee went straight to the Ukrainian war effort ... so the "true" fee was probably really only £40m, which is still about £35m too high based on everything we've seen to date,

A series of loans beckons ... Bakayoko Mk 2 basically ...

He's saying what we've been saying too...

I really do like his honesty.

What he says and how he says it, his body language and his facial expressions...all make me think mudryk is forced upon him.

He just has to hope he can get something out of him or some games we will be playing with only 10 men.

I worry how long it will be before maresca says enough is enough, and approaches eghbali and gets fired.

This is his last season for sure, if he can’t get himself together then he need to be sold.

At least Enzo Maresca’s football could suit him. I just hope when he scores or plays well, he get a run of games to build on his confidence rather than get dropped straight away like under Poch. I think Poch handled him terribly last season.

But yes he was abysmal last night, it was actually sad to watch. Where was that Mudryk on his debut?

Honestly what's the point. We've had 18 months of utter sh*te from Mudryk now.

Eghbali needs to man up and accept he got his pants pulled down on this transfer, Cut your losses and move on, and have the coach invest his time in players that are actually worth it ...

Mudryk has 5 years probably on 100k p/w contract . Not only nobody will pay him that, nobody will give us any fee.

I can see us moving Madueke before selling Mudryk. In fact with estevao n Paez, madueke need to prepare himself.

Bakayoko land awaits. Loan to lad through to expiry

I think its the other way around, but yeah

Disagree personally. He’s clearly got the right idea and is intelligent when on the ball but can’t pull most things off.

I called this transfer out at the time not necessarily because of his ability but more so the astronomical fee we paid (thankfully there won’t be too many of the add ons being met).

Everything is there to make a good footballer apart from his brain or possibly confidence. You can see he’s desperate to succeed but Chelsea isn’t where it will happen that’s for sure.

We’ll sell him to Germany or Spain and he’ll have a decent career but he wasn’t worth what we paid and never will e

I think Italy would be better for him and maybe a loan spell first. Hopefully he does well and his price would go up.

He needs somewhere he can slow down very slightly, just enough for his brain to catch up and in Italy he'd still be fast enough. I think Germany and Spain would be too technical for him like the way maresca, arteta, pep play.

If Maresca is saying this publicly then am sure he’s saying worst privately.

I am sure he’s told laurel and hard he’s sh*t, also he knows he can’t be sacked yet as he’s on a 5 year contract 🤣

Maybe you know...If they are honest with maresca, then I can see that too. Then they told him he's one of the ones we can't sell yet so you'll have to try and make him better to sell next season.

With Neto and Felix now part of the squad I think Mudryk will get less opportunities now. Unless there are injuries of course. It would make sense to find a loan for him. Perhaps a fresh start elsewhere will allow him to rebuild his career.

He did get a new agent.

I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for him.  It's painfull to watch someone who clearly just doesn't have any footballing nous struggle like this and for his sake I hope we can end this in a way which helps him going forward.

The blame lies fairly and squarely on the shoulders of those responsible for the signing and the ridiculous fee and length of contract,  they are the ones who should be hounded,  not the player.

He needs to be developed, since he's signed we've had three managers isnt it, lost count? Im really not adverse to him hanging around. With the right patient approach, used at the right times, and with an understanding manager, he could offer a lot.  absolutely frustrating but so was Jesper Gronkjaer - Funnily enough we play Liverpool at home on the 3rd May... I wonder if if Murdyk does a Jesper and gets us champions league football with a screamer.... he's got to survive the january transfer window first but fingers crossed...

More brutal honesty. Just how long until we see Mudryk put in a performance like Madueke?

I don't think he's going to start a meaningful game for us again
