Luis Enrique looks more risky to me though, that ultra tiki-taka style that needs very particular profiles in order for it to work looks just too hard to accomplish if we just for a moment see our squad as it is now. Todd would need to spend a lot more for him in comparison to Nagelsmann IMO.

Not enrique....please.

More than enough Passive tiki taka crap over the past few years. Death by backwards passing under sarri and tuchel was yawn inducing

As @SydneyChelseasaid he's literally never played that style at club level.

Feels likes Nagelsmann is the first choice and Enrique the second.

Just hope someone is announced before the season ends. Need some light after this awful, awful season.

Scratch that.

Appears there was another meeting between Enrique and Winstanley yesterday. So far things are going in the direction of Enrique.

Yan on Football Theraphy reported Enrique is "desperate" for the job.

Other reports put Nagelsmann as not sold on our project yet.

Amazing how Liverpool turns very normal dudes into Scousers. Look at the state of Klippity Klopp and Bobby Firmino these days!

Nagelsmann may be the reason we're waiting until the summer. It's being reported Enrique would have come in straight away (take this with a pinch of salt). Whereas Julian wants to wait until the summer.

If both are interviewing well it comes down to which one wants the job most and which one we like the most. I believe that if Julian has us a back up to Madrid or even Paris, we will go with Enrique. I don't think it's wise to string the latter along under the pretense we're weighing up our options and taking our time when really we're waiting for Julian to agree.

Enrique has the fact we don't need to buy him out of a club contract in his favour. Bayern may be stubborn especially since we're dragging our heels with Anthony Barry.

I share the sentiment with many on here, we just want someone announced sooner rather than later. It gives the squad and fans a boost, relives the pressure of worrying who will we be getting. Alongside hoping they're not a B+ player or below. Make no mistake Roman built this house for elite tacticians, coaches at the very minimum bar a few exceptions tended to be A- tier managers across his tenure.

The main difference being reported right now I believe is Julian wants a keeper, a DM and a striker. Whereas Enrique wants a flexible striker and improvements in our winger department alongside you guessed it a DM. Considering we just spent over £100m on Mudyrk and Madueke I think the board may baulk at this request.

Either way the squad needs gutting, the question is when an elite coach comes in just by how much

All hail Zeta, savior of Chelsea FC!

The same debate on Nagelsman vs Enrique will now be unleashed for Zeta vs Monty. As a compromise I'm suggesting Steve Clark again, with Kurtis as assistent coach, to wake up every lazy squad member.

Anyone think we might take a look at Kompany if for some reason we cant get Nagelsmann or Enrique? Fits the «young and upcoming» profile our owners seems to like and generally has a great standing in football.
He’s probably not experienced enough for us though, but he does have that aura around him that makes me believe he will be an excellent manager. Quite the impressive season with Burnley as well

He's still got a long way to go before he gets a chance at a top club in the PL. If he does establish himself then he'll likely succeed Pep at City given his links with the club and the stable structures in place there.

I think it's unrealistic the way we're trying to forcefully fit managers in this pre-defined mould of young, upcoming, long-term, who takes interest in the recruitment, etc etc. This kind of thinking cost us Tuchel and we're in a worse position now even after spending 50 mill on managers.

It would be better if we keep things simple after the failed Potter experiment.

Seems unlikely, a big risk, though I would imagine Enzo would be happy.

If true I wonder what he has done in the interviews to impress the owners and directors so much. Does he even speak English?

Enzo may have put in a good word for him but it's highly unlikely we take this big a gamble again after Potter.

Very interesting, indeed. I actually read something similar on Marcelo Gallardo this morning coming from French media close to PSG.

Apparently he was their 1st option to replace Galtier but refused both PSG and Flamengo and instructed his technicall staff that they will all go back to work in June as the negociations with Chelsea are hitting the last stage. Same thing reported by Brazilian media saying he said No to Flamengo because there is nothing left for him to prove in South America and will move to Europe (Brazilian media say he has set his target on Chelsea and does not want to discuss other offers).

Guess we'll find out soon If anything is true.
