April 18, 20233 yr That could feasibly be a back four (Chalobah RB, Cucurella LB, Reece in the 'Loftus-Cheek' hybrid role) but I'm not hopeful. I dread the thought of Cucurella at wing-back, of Havertz isolated up top with vague runs from Kanté and Gallagher as his sole support. Having Mount on the bench while Mateo the inert limps through another 90 minutes is absurd. Which will be more painful? The first hour of manfully defending space, or bringing on Félix in the 61st minute when we're 1-0 down? Do Real need to do anything other than just letting us have the ball to win the tie?
April 18, 20233 yr Either there's been some massive player mutiny among our attackers or that is the dumbest XI i've had the displeasure of seeing in days of following football.

I f**king love Frank, but seriously, Potter wouldn't have even done this in such a big game! Has Todd picked this team instead or what? Has there been sh*t flying around after Brighton in the dressing room, so 90% of attacking players are dropped! Help me try and find logic in this? Auba isn't in CL squad. As for the rest of it I guess Lampard didn't like the free scoring team we've been sll season.
April 18, 20233 yr Our starting 11 have scored a total of 17 goals combined in the league this season, Ivan Toney has scored 18 in comparison
April 18, 20233 yr Can a side be so un-threatening that it's actually threatening? The season's so dead we're now just using games to do scientific experiments!
April 18, 20233 yr Maybe Frank is sending a message to those sat on the bench. TBH if I was sat on the bench I wouldn't give a toss in a game we have no chance of winning so why embarrass myself...I'll just take the cash thanks and f**k off at the end of the season, especially if I was Mudryk, Mount or even Felix while not pulling up trees has been better than some and you might have a chance of scoring....not a f**king hope with that 11 though, not from open play at least.

April 18, 20233 yr Apparently Lamps has been studying our matches against Madrid over the past 3 seasons. If he has I don't understand how he's come to the conclusion 3511when 2-0 down at home is the answer. No excuse has to be 3421, I don't care if they sack you in the morning agenda or not Mount starts if he's fit for this game. For me it had to be this: Kepa Trev Silva Fofana James Kanté Kova Cucurella Mount Pulisic Havertz
April 18, 20233 yr I have seen some odd starting lineups for Chelsea in recent years but this must be the absolute top in that category.
April 18, 20233 yr Tuchel lost this game 3-1 last time out , let's not be too hard on Frank if (when) we go out tonight. The whole season has been a giant f**k up, I can't wait for it to end to be honest.
April 18, 20233 yr Nightmare lineup, absolute circus. In less depressing news.. Osimhen back in the Napoli first 11!.. gonna be a hell of a game at the Maradona.
April 18, 20233 yr Read on twitter that the team news was read out and the fans were disgruntled. Not surpising. If we are sitting back in the first 15 mins, don't be surprised that the fans start booing, whistling etc
April 18, 20233 yr He knows we're not winning, or even scoring, so best to pack the midfield and hope to keep Madrid down to 1 or 2.
