July 8, 20251 yr Good player, will be our starting striker surely. Overall game is more polish than Delap, Jackson isn't even in the conversation. 3rd choice option ala Loic Remy.

July 8, 20251 yr And getting the humble pie 🥧 ready. I probably will enjoy eating it as it would be we finally have a striker actually doing striker things

He's very well rounded I think a lot of the time he'll be wasted as a number 9, which of course sounds mental after his performance tonight.
July 8, 20251 yr Double posting here because I like when I'm wrong and it still benefits me... 😅"I was dead wrong about him, but now know more about his background coming from Fluminense: he was always a wonderkid with huge potential. It's exciting to watch him play."I'm listening to the Brazilian media and apparently Joao Pedro had Ronaldo 9 numbers as a 18yo at Fluminense. Then he struggled a bit after moving, or perhaps did not develop as quickly as expected, but there is now murmur about Joao Pedro leading the line for Brazil next year at the WC.

Perhaps as that was Roman’s first game, and there with my dad. But my goodness did Mutus wheels ever come off. It’s different this time though!!!!

July 9, 20251 yr It's been a while since I've been impressed by a new signing by such a degree. I wasn't overly excited by the singing at first or really understood what his role would be, but he looks like to be a great fit in the "CF" position to link up with Palmer, Enzo, and the two wingers. He also offers a real goal threat and is not afraid to shoot from outside the box, which will come in useful for a lot of our games where teams will set up with a low block. He's a totally different type of player than Delap, I think both of them will be useful next season, but this guy has hit the ground running.
July 9, 20251 yr Definitely a huge upgrade on Jackson. I don’t expect him to score every game but his overall play is really good, and I love his tracking back. It’s a competition between him and Delap imo for the starting position, at the moment Pedro edges it but honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if Delap surpasses him eventually.Hopefully we can play both at the same time, if we do then Jackson is probably worth keeping, purely for depth.Having said that, if anyone comes in with a offer, take it and run.
July 9, 20251 yr I heard talk about him being injury prone - is this true? He missed 8 games last season to injury which isn't bad compared to some of our players *cough* Lavia, James, Fofana *cough*

He had a hamstring injury a couple years ago that had him out for a couple months but he's been relatively fit for his entire career. https://www.transfermarkt.us/joao-pedro/verletzungen/spieler/626724

Maresca got pelters from the ignoranti for subbing him off last night. Sensible, given he hadn't played since April and had been on hols.
