A fair result. Palace were compact, solid and dangerous on the break. We didn’t do enough.

Thought our big players were all average today - Cucu, Enzo, Palmer, Neto. Gittens doesn’t look good enough to me (yet), but early days.

Positives - Estevao will change games. Josh was superb - palace aren’t an easy side to face. They won’t buy a CB if Josh can do that.

Had 2 very good chances to win it. Estevao should have left that shot for Neto and Santos should have finished that cut back from Cucurella.

Palace are going to upset a few teams this season the Kind of game you need to win if you want to win the title.

A point against Palace isn't the worst, but that performance was dog sh*te.

The look absolutely shattered during that second half to me.

Was silly to think the manager had learnt.

Can't wait for 1/3 to 1/2 of our games looking like that because we've a manager who doesn't get that half the league are perfectly happy to sit back and watch you do endless 0 threat passes for 90 minutes.

Well we definitely need a CB and a winger, Neto is useless, Gittens isn’t ready just feels like playing CHO.

We miss lavia in the midfield he should have 3 in there it lets us break their lines and get the forwards away.

Palmer needs to play in the right not through the middle.

All these things should be obvious to a coach surely.

Frustrating game but Palace were very good. They made our lives really difficult, having said that we could have won it if we took our chances.

Estevao looks very exciting and with more experience he’ll be able to destroy low block defence. Not so sure on Gittens.

Oh well, a point is better than nothing. Onwards to West Ham.

Very similar to the frustrating games from last season. Palace were very well organised but if you move the ball as slowly as we did today, then its very easy to defend against.

Would love see James over lap in games like these, seems a waste having him play as a right centre back.

Palmer anonymous today, needs to do more to be a match winner in these sort of games, but didn't really look like taking responsibility today.

Not a great start to the season.

Give it to at least match week 2, ffs. Im not a fan of his, but CWC earned him time.

He had all the last seasion, playing hasn't improved a bit.

Not gonna lie, we've been on the 'Double Tree hotel bar at Imperial Wharf for at least 15 minutes. Don't have a go at me , I usually miss goals , just doing my best to help !

Had a great day though , friends and family have always been more important. ....a bit of attractive football is all I've ever wanted . ..

Still , can't have everything .

,

That was a let down after a promising summer. To be fair, Palace are a good team who have a knack for beating 'big' teams, so a draw isn't a bad result, but we seemed to completely lack creativity.

It's concerning how hard our central attacking players (Pedro and Palmer) found it to get involved, and our wingers seemed afraid to take risks and put in crosses. That dynamic changed for the better after replacing Pedro with Delap, but by then it was too late.

I really hope Enzo is benched for the next match. He has to be shown that his starting spot isn't guaranteed by his transfer fee, and he needs to up his game.

Actually, i think Glasner will be disappointed with Palace's performance. They defended well and nullified our threat entirely. Maresca's game plan was easily overcome. The only outlier that they were unsure of was the new Estevao. But i bet he would have wanted a tighter front line of Mateta, Sarr and Eze, because there were few times that could have also punished us if we weren't careful.

I would put this down as an average away performance form Palace and an under average one from us. Does not bode well when teams actually come here to solely defend, especially as we seem to be using beach balls now.

Not after they lose Guehi and Eze they won't

There's really no point trying to look too deeply into that performance, Enzo was the only clear sh*t player, but the rest was obvious, they struggled because of the system. This is on Maresca, again. He said he knew we would win in the first 10 minutes against PSG, well I knew we wouldn't do much today in the first 10 minutes. He held us back again, his defenders will pretend he didn't, but everything we saw today was everything wrong with Maresca's football.

You do not beat a compact defence playing slow and isolating your attackers in 1v2 situations. It very rarely happens and when it does, it's usually a smash and grab type win. I said Maresca would have to come up with something different to succeed in the Premier League, and he failed on day 1.

It's as if we've reverted to the default Premiership setting again, night and day compared to the directness of the CWC and last week!

Playing against proper teams now instead of fodder. Maresca has pulled one tactically excellent game and got a pass because of it. Back to earth with a bump now though.

I know it’s only one game but I was very disappointed.

Pedro palmer gittens Enzo Neto all offered nothing.

If u want to be challenging its games like these you need to find a way.
