There is no way we should spend 100m on Chiesa. We shouldn't spend money on hype.

To be fair that is a huge sum of money and if someone offered that up front for any of our players it would be worth serious consideration.

If you take away the fact City dont need the cash 150 mill would probably get you any PL player. Rice, Pogba, VVD, Fernandes etc etc.

Probably just a rumour due to the Euros anyway, but Chiesa isn't just hype though. He's Juve most threatening player alongside Ronaldo and was already a menace at Fiorentina so definitely not a one season wonder (he doesn't even have the excuse of best team in Italy as Juventus were a mess with Pirlo), plus he had good numbers in the league and CL as well. 

Definitely one of the most interesting u23 players around. To me, hype would be getting Schick who is technical sound but doesn't produce consistently or Damsgaard who had a great competition but is still a major question mark (and we still have CHO with the same set of skills, just needs to find his stride)

 

 

The odds of getting Chiesa is about the same as Chelsea selling Mount. Slim to none. 

Just reading about Barca’s situation. They apparently want Samuel Umtiti to leave. He was quite highly rated before he went to Barca. Would he be worth a punt for our defence?

We are all discussing and linked to strikers, midfielders, wingbacks, defenders but no one has given a proper thought about the fact that we are going to have to field Kepa in January - February against City, Spuds, and maybe Brighton and Arsenal in the PL? No links to a decent second keeper?

My thoughts are that Kepa is a decent second keeper. Didn’t let us down anytime when called upon last season. Very difficult to get a quality keeper who is prepared to be second choice.

That Leicester goal in the FA Cup final, though a worldie, it was reachable and showed that a shot from outside the box is dangerous when Kepa is on goal.

Some reports say that Tuchel also wants a number 7 and that one player that we might be looking at is Berardi.

lol. Berardi was about the only Italian player I didn't want to see on the pitch - although it was mainly due the fact he kept Chiesa out for those games. But since a) the Italian guy I'm playing football with (knows that Pessina guy or however he's called) clearly rated him and b) Berardi didn't play on Chiesas side but for Immobile he actually grew on me. Don't know him too well but he strikes me as somebody that could work well with Havertz (changing positions fluently).

Berardi was so bad at the euro's, seemed to have no pace and very weak finishing. I would also hazard that in the Prem League he would be even worse. Happy to be proven wrong if the links were true, but he looked like the one Italian that wasent good, and that was in every game.

Ha ha, sorry. He signed for Barca as Frances next great young defender but Ive no idea how he has done there. He only played 45 minutes at the Euro`s I think.

I had the misfortune of cheering him on when he played for France in the 3 at the back system, he got wrecked. 

He's nowhere near the standard we should be aiming for.
