Strange to find snowflakes in August...

I think a person who serves a club for 7 years deserve the respect of the fans. He has never disrespected the club.. even during the last 3 months he didn’t give interviews which disrespected the club.. manager after manager picked him and he tried to do what he could..

I wonder where the hate comes from.. wonder if your current employer says this to you after 7 years?

Willian has had a very good career with us. not excellent, but very good. He has the talent to have had a bigger impact, but he wasnt a bad signing by any stretch of the imagination. When we had our atrocious season in Jose's last spell, Willian was one of the only players you could point to as stepping up and performing despite teammates around him downing tools. His form after lockdown was also hugely important in helping us get top 4 this season. not sure how many goals he contrbuted to, but it was quite a few.

Overall I think Willian deserves to be respected and remembered as a good player for us, loyal and committed. He could have stopped when his contract was officially up, but instead agreed to keep playing after lockdown. The guy gave his all for us. Thanks Willy!

I think we will regret this transfer. Some players peak with age because of their work ethic and discipline off the pitch like James Miller. Willians work ethic off the ball is only matched by Kante in this team. There is a reason why all our coaches liked Willian.

I especially want to thank Willian because his form after lockdown pretty much got us top 4 and him missing the Fa Cup Final is a big reason we lost it even though people don't see it because of biased eyes

I don't think Willian would have made a difference with the penalty and Aubemeyang's moment of quality.

He was a good servant at the club but he was never consistent enough for me. When you look at how many goals Mane and Salah provide Liverpool playing further up, Willian was nowhere near that level.

Should have been a squad player. Was a first team player for too long here, he put in the level of performance expected at the top level for a month a season, which would make pundits ask why isn’t he starting every week. No wonder we’re so up and down with our competitiveness year on year when Willian is one of your best players.

LMFAO... I obviously didn't mean he would have helped us not concede goals . what I meant was that our attack looked hopeless after we scored. We needed a player who could help beat the press and also keep possession for us while also being a playmaker .

My main fear is that Willian is actually peaking and had his best season goals/assist wise. He was just beginning to get out of Hazards shadow which is difficult considering that our offense was always run through hazard. It's not a co incidence that his best 2 seasons where when hazard had a terrible season and when Hazard left us.

I know his stats don't match up to Salah and mane but Willian is more like the unsung Firmino who helps to link up play by coming deep and working his ass off for the team.

I just feel like the club could have offered him 3 years because William is the type of professional who takes care of himself and could still play at the top level at age 37 just like Cristiano Ronaldo or Miller.

5 goals that year

5 non penalty goals this year. 7 goals from open play the last two seasons despite starting nearly every match. I'm not worried about him peaking.

You're right though, with Hazard gone and Jorginho on the bench, Willian got penalty duty which led to his best G/A season.

Otherwise, he's a remarkably consistent 5 goals per year player.

It's also no coincidence that when Willian was considered one of our best players, we were 30 points off of 1st place.

It was past time to move on from what we hoped Willian could be. The thought that he could be the star, that he was the #10, was always going to hold Chelsea back.

Fair enough. I just have a funny feeling he will ball out with Arsenal in the number 10 position. Time will tell if we sold him too soon.

We have not sold him though have we? His contact rundown, club tried to keep, he turned down offers we would not give to even JT or Lamps.

If we let him go too soon I guess. Like i said time will tell. I have moved on and i am dreaming of Havertz

Wish him well. Always liked him. POTY for me this season.

He is definitely up there. I would say for consistant form over the whole season Mount shades it. Otherwise is players in patches of brilliant form, Giroud, pulisic etc

We won't. James Milner's alleged contribution to Liverpool's title win has been massively overstated by a fawning media who love talking up a 'grafting' player and 'unsung heroes'. Milner's contribution was no more or less than should be expected of any squad player to a title-winning season. No one was writing feature articles on Geremi!

In saying that, Milner also reinvented himself from a grafting, pressing player to a more deep-lying role balancing out the high-press of the others, a role that you might recall suited even as far back as Aston Villa. Willian isn't going to do that, he doesn't have that skill set.

Willian has always been one of my favourites and I was so excited when he joined us after tearing us apart in the Champions League, but we aren't going to miss him as much as people fear.

Does his contract run until the end of the planned champions league dates or something? Considering it’s apparently been a done deal for weeks it’s taking a while for Arsenal to announce. I hope he f**ks them about and joins Fulham instead :laugh2:

Or he's trolling us all and Chelsea will announce a new 4-year contract with a minimum 35 guaranteed league starts each year and CHO and Pulisic to be his own personal driver/boot-cleaners

Look we all know you want RIPMourinho to jump off a bridge, but we didn't think it was any time soon.

that was his 2016 contract... I don't think  this one will be quite as player friendly considering his age... 3 years max...

I agree with you, i just feel like he would have been a good player to come off the bench and also may be help ease Ziyech into the premier league but to be honest the main reason i am mad is because he is going to Arsenal and will help improve a top 4 rival like matic did instead of going abroad like Hazard

Officially moved to Arsenal.

Still weird to see him in that shirt, but I wish him the best of luck.

Thanks for everything he has done for us. Wasn't really a player of numbers but he has done an incredible job, his work rate, his dribbling and that Brazilian football.
