He does this every year, he goes on a run of 4 or 5 games where he looks amazing, then he disappears again. I don't have any problems with selling him and bringing in someone younger and better, just not to another PL rival again.

Knowing our luck if he went to Man Utd he'd score 40 goals and win PFA player of the year.

It really bugs me when pundits say things like "i don't understand why Willian is in and out of the starting 11"......if they watched a bit closer then they would see. There is only one pundit who actually pointed out Willian's inconsistency, and it was Steven Gerrard of all people. 

Even the commentators say things like "Chelsea fans want to see more of Willian in the starting 11".....no, i want to see more of the Willian we seen during January and February in the starting 11. That was Willian's best period in a Chelsea shirt in my opinion, but like many times in Willian's Chelsea career, he hasn't kept his form going.

Thats a Paul Merson special, then the rest of the pundits jump on the bandwagon. You need to actually watch every bit of Willian in a game to see how frustrating he is, the flicks and sh*t just keep ruining the attacking flow. He is obsessed with flicks, he even does them when a simple pass would do the exact same thing, is it just me but Willian has really seemed moany this season, if someone f**ks up or anything bad happens he waves his arm in frustration like his Ronaldo.

Yes, he's been doing that a lot this season. We don't get anything from refs so i don't see the point in him throwing his arms up moaning. Just play to the whistle.

Ever since the goal they scored against Brighton, they've all been doing it all the time.

I'm not disagreeing with the main thrust of your point, but blaming him for the goal is stretching it a bit, no a f**king lot.  No, that's just silly. 

He wasn't in the middle of the pitch, he was just outside the opposition box.  You say "runs into trouble", I say "got clattered by two big lumps and should have had a free kick", you say "leaves us exposed on the counter", I say one of the aforementioned lumps hoofs the ball up field, where a top 5 defensive unit are waiting, and another lump kicks his way through a goalkeeper and a floundering centre back, which also should have been a free kick.

 

Still, I'm sure someone will be able to find the truth on google for us

I don’t think he’s solely to blame but I think him dropping deep past the midfield to receive the ball and then run into trouble like he did (didn’t think it was a foul personally, would be annoyed if given against us) means he’s at fault.

Also said elsewhere that I think Christensen and Willy C were at fault too.

Willy was way too slow off the line, that’s for sure.

Half a season missed because he wasn't selected, in and out the team all season. Him and Hazard should of been inked down for every game (almost every game).

He had a good couple of months, but kante has been world class all season. 

Hazard has had a better season too.

Had about 5 good games, no idea how he won that one.

I guess when he was in top form it stuck in their minds much more and Kante's usual business is taken for granted. Kante not being in PFA team of the year is another example of that.

To be fair its not as bad as Man Utd where a goalkeeper wins it 4 years on the trot.

In that period between October and mid December we were on our best form of the season because of 352.

a one month purple patch gets you an end of season award now it seems.

Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Kante, Hazard, they all had a better season than Willian.

You got to be kidding me.  Who got second place?  Bakayoko?

Probably a little bit of appreciation for him as a guy, and how he was in and out of the team, but still generally gave his best. 

Probably a little bit of 2 fingers to Conte.

I don't know how many players are unhappy with Conte, or his tactics (or both), but Willian has been openly unhappy with Conte. He's had a chip on his shoulder and a stroppy attitude all season...and that culminated with him completely blanking Conte and storming down the tunnel during an FA Cup semi.

Which would have been about the time the votes for this would have been getting gathered up. 

My first thought when I saw Player's Player of the Year was "that's an FU to Conte".

Just a thought. Could be completely wrong.
