Victor Moses

Featured Replies

Moses is terrible but I would be more inclined to give him a chance over Salah, who is just as bad as Moses imo, and Cuadrado, if he doesn't improve, simply because he scored goals for us, a couple of them were pretty important too.

He is in our preseason squad and I hope he does well. His 1 season for us he scored 10 goals in 40 matches (almost all in cups and Europe) and took his chance when given it. He is a seasoned international for an albeit rubbish Nigeria and is only 24. He's already played in 6 seasons in the Premier league and deserves a chance just as much as someone with a foreign passport. I don't see many alternatives available that will be better and are available.

Jose on Moses following last night's friendly

‘Victor is strong, he’s experienced and he knows the Premier League well, he’s fast and aggressive. Okay, he has to learn how to play with us but I’m happy with his week and his 45 minutes. Let’s see what happens but Victor had an evolution in the last couple of years.’

Not an emphatic message that he's staying unlike things he's said about others recently.

Basically I think it will depend on others (read Cuadrado) leaving whether he stays this season or not.

i don't personally see cuadrado leaving. has a player ever left after being given a new squad number? i feel we'll give cuadrado until jan to prove himself otherwise a loan or sale may happen.

I'd take Moses over Cuadrado any day, hell i'd even take him over Oscar for half the season.

So yes, i'm glad he's staying with us this year.

Last year Moses was given the number 18 shirt and even presented to the crowd as part of our home game pre-season friendly. A few days later he left on loan for Stoke.

If anything Jose is giving Moses a bit of a push to the backside here. Go on show us what you've got type of thing.

Well someone will go for sure. I remember Moses being pretty effective last time he actually played a season with us. Let the boys battle it out.

He always seem to do well in pre season and just disappear when it matters, so I'm not going to get too excited.

He played well in the season he had with us and scored some important goals.

Looked far more impressive than Salah or Cuadrado have ever done in a Chelsea shirt that's for sure.

He had a bad season season at Liverpool but then agent Moses missed a sitter against (former boyhood club) Crystal Palace that more or less lost them the title and he did very well last season at Stoke.

He's fast and direct and unlike all our other wide players likes to get to the byline rather than cutting inside.

Personally I wouldn't object to him staying because I think he can contribute something slightly different and being homegrown is an added bonus too.

Spot on unfortunately or fortunately however you view it

Isn't having Moses and Traore both staying having too many players?. I feel like at least one of them should go out on loan.

Traore won't see much football probably just a bedding in period for him.

Then next year Cuadrado and/or Moses will go and the intention is probably for him to step up.

he's right though

here we have young moses, originally bought at a discount price(in comparison to someone like cuadrado) and without the hype of salah...yet not only has he played better for us than the other 2 did. but at stoke as well.

i'd be happy to keep him here this season.

i dont remember him playing too well against the bigger teams for us 2 years ago but against the smaller ones he was great. would take that any day of the week over some of the rubbish we've seen out of salah(fiorentina spell aside) and cuadrado have dished up

Scored, played ok and got MOTM in the PSG game. Clearly not a world beater but Jose knows he is going to offer more than Cuadrado will so he's worth having around as another option.

Always thought it was a little harsh how he was jettisoned after a decent first season with us, I like him, definitely not a first XI player but a worthy squad player. An option we didn't have last season.

I know he's right I agreed with him, I merely said its unfortunate that those two couldn't impress more than Moses did. Cause Moses did OK for us at times and really those two haven't at all.

He was also Chelsea's best player in the Europa League a couple of seasons back, so I say he did more than OK. Defnitely wide squad material.

Yeah always liked Moses and thought it was harsh that he got loaned out after a decent first season.

However I can't help but think that Jose is buttering him up and praising him to increase his price for the Stones deal.

Moses as backup for Willian on right and Traore as backup for Hazard on left. If Willian moves to AM then Moses will have a competition with Cuadrado, Oscar, Traore and maybe Ramires on the position.
