Filipe Luis to Chelsea... and Back Again.

Featured Replies

There was nothing wrong with him today. Good tackling, good passes, and linked up well with the midfield. The only bad performances today was Mikel and Hazard. The rest were between good and average.

he lost the ball trying to dribble deep inside our own half, hardly nothing wrong

i presonally dont rate him. i dont think hes even better than bertrand

Ok, one little thing wrong. Everybody made a few mistakes today, no player has gone a whole match getting everything spot on.

Oh phew, I thought I was the only one thinking he had done okay, and I was impressed by his technique as well on a few occasions. Well, at least for the first half, the second half he deteriorated with the rest.

RLC did. 27/27 passes completed

Well, not to nitpick, but RLC made one dangerous pass to the center of the field in the defensive end early in the match, which looked a bit dodgy. The pass was underhit, and caused me to gulp a bit.

Don't be so greedy then, little sips are really better for your health :-)

That pass of his in the first half, switching the play with a beautiful first touch 40-50 yard ball through to Willian, was simply world class. Probably better than Fabregas' ball to Remy over the LFC defensive line.

Simeone confirms he hopes to resign Luis.

Atletico are also keen to sign Luis, who left the Spanish club for Chelsea in a €20 million deal last summer but had little involvement under Jose Mourinho.

"[Filipe Luis] is a player we like a lot as a kid but who also knows us well and has given a lot to the team," Simeone said. "I hope it happens."

Shame.

He's a quality left back who attacking wise is better than what we have but Azpi is such a solid left back that he can't be shifted easily.

If Greizmann is part of this whole thing then I'd begrudgingly accept, although I doubt they will sell him.

Meh. Average player in my opinion. If we recoup what we spent, or nearly all of it, I won';t be fussed.

He's better than average but not good enough to displace Azpi which makes the fact that he's one of our most expensive players annually bad business.

Wouldn't mind taking a punt on Cresswell, or even using Ake as cover. Long-term Dasilva is probably the plan.

I have always been impressed with him when he has played. Looks so assured on the ball, very skilled. Hasn't really been given much of a chance but Dave has been rock solid, so what can you do.

Quality player, but if he does leave it'll be a bit tough to know that we let Bertrand go to make room for this bloke, and then we hardly use him and let him go again.

Azpi is such a class player, and what a bargain.

Question is, who do you bring in as a replacement?

Difficult to sign quality reinforcements when they know they'll be second choice.

Would make sense for Ake to stay even if left back isn't his strongest position.

this is why jose should have played with luis at lb and azpi at rb. i never understood the persistance with ivan at rb; he was a liability defensively, and not much better going forward last season. i would have rather ivan at cb, then have the two natural full backs. felipe luis is a quality player and will be a shame to see him leave.
