Meh, he had a decent first season in England, but it felt more like a settling in season for him. He wasn't putting in performances that deserved massive praise that he was getting in Spain.

I think the you would be bang on if you included the word "consistently" in your post. He has had some excellent games, game winning displays etc but he doesn't seem able to do that as consistently as we need, or indeed as consistently as Petr Cech could. He's a fantastic keeper, and still very young so binning him now would be a mistake in my opinion. But there's just something missing, his concentration seems off and he just needs to get on with his game.

Starting to look very average nowadays.. he doesn't seem to understand when to come out, when to stay back..

I never rated him goals that go in against him should be saved his reactions are not as quick as they should be

he got wilmots sacked in his national team, he got one of the best gk coach around in christoph lollichon who help cech became a world class keeper sacked because according to him his training method is ancient , he was probably one of the "rats" who got jose sacked last season, the club has granted all his request to accomodate him and now he keeps yapping about going back to spain forcing his agent to do damage control with "misinterpertation" bullsh*t of an excuse TWICE, and after today's game it's obvious that his head is set on somewhere else

Given Real and Atletico's transfer ban the only club he could conceivably go to in Spain in the short term is Barcelona, but would they be interested? Buffon's replacement at Juventus perhaps?

Cahill is not his prime self and that is pressure in itself, that is compounded by the fact that he is playing next to Ivanovich who is often caught far behind. The only hope for him is to have his keeper bail him out and Tibo is not doing that.

Courteous is just not showing the promise that he did at Athletico Madrid. He doesn't command his area, he's not vocal enough and is far too slow off his line.

i hope madrid come in for him so we can make a deal for navas instead. courtois just doesn't give a f**k at the moment it seems, either that or i don't know how to explain his form.

To be fair, I wouldn't trust or know what the hell Cahill is doing at the moment so don't blame Courtois for staying back. He's got no confidence in his defenders.

Am not blaming Courtois but after watching the replay of that incident, I noticed when Cahill shielded the ball for Courtois to come for it, Courtois look so relaxed and content to stay back as if he scared of coming out and then making another mistake. So I doubt having Courtois in the goal post gives any of our defenders any confidence.

Bit strange when you consider he has been 1st choice for 3 title winning team already at the age of 23. 

He has been decent this season, certainly bigger problems in the team than courtois. 

Despite his constant yapping which is annoying. He can be kept on till we find a keeper better than him.

He is not the cause of our problems. A lazy old defense is the problem.

We've been doing it for the past 3 years! Either that or not buying anyone at all. Line those up alongside not promoting any youth prospects and you end with a 4th season of a right back playing left back, a £25 million Bolton reject and the worst centre back pairing we've had since Cahill and Luiz, which happens to be....oh. 

To be fair it would be nice if Courtois saved something every once in a while, can't help but feel a mannequin would offer a similar prescence at the moment.

I accept that he's not inspiring confidence in many, but then I also think he can't have done much more with most of the goals we've conceded and is an easy target because people obviously don't like him.

p.s. whenever begovic steps in, and this is a proven first choice premier league standard player, he routinely does worse and we look a worse side overall. that is a fair indicator that goalkeeper isn't really where we should start looking at when it comes to our problems.

A settled, comfortable defence would make all the difference to him.

Courtois though at some point has to step up to the plate and produce. He has at present the worst shots to goals ratio in the league, whilst the number of saves he has made ranks him in 17th. Admittedly stats definetly don't tell all the story, he has though seemed to drop a level since returning from injury.His dominance of his area now is pratically non existant, distribution poor, coupled with his lack of communication with our woeful defence.He is at present a long way from world class. Maybe he has peaked already? Or his head is in Spain.
