He has plenty of potential, if we sign him I'm sure Jose will lift him to another level. Just don't expect him to be a starting player anytime soon.

I love the Scousers' outrage at Sterling for wanting to leave for a better club who challenge for honours. Players have always wanted bigger and better. They had no problem when they signed Southampton's best players (or when they signed Sterling himself from QPR). Also, go back to the 80s and they signed Spackman from Chelsea who was one of our best players and stuck him on the bench. Now it's happening to them they don't like it. Diddums.

For some unaccountable reason, I always had a soft spot for Meireles.  He looked such a nutter.  And yes that goal was cracking.

Personally I wouldn't take him. Too expensive and wages too high with a bit of an attitude problem. If we want English players in the squad I'd rather they be from Chelsea's youth than overpriced QPR divas.

Liverpool set themselves in this position by going public with the contract negotiations. Rodgers talking to the press trying to put pressure on him to sign had backfired in the worst possible way. There is no way to recover from this,he will be sold in the summer and at a reduced rate. Wouldnt mind if we swooped in and got him

£20 million overpriced? I'd say he's probably £30 million overpriced don't think he's a £40 million player

His value will only drop now. If Liverpool dig in and keep him, then he will be worth under 15m this time year.

I understand they want to make a stance, but having just missed out on a champions league revenue, I doubt they would turn down 30m for an unhappy player, who's contract isn't far off expiring.
