Tammy Abraham

Featured Replies

Dont believe all this rubvish the whole players are too young to play together, I feel as a club we have far too many older players who in fair have achieved a lot but as with anything the hunger goes,

I'd take younger hungrier players with heart! over past it end of their careers strikers anyway.

Tammy has proven he knows where the goal is, I'm pretty sure he want to be successful and Chelsea means a hell of lot more to him personally than any other option striker we have.

If we can't sign players, I'd really like to see us put Tammy up front for the start of the season and tell him he's our first choice striker.  If of course after a run of 6-7 games he hasn't performed, then it's fair that he is dropped and we go down a different route.

What I don't want to see us 5-10 minutes here and there, as that basically shows you nothing.

Ditto with Michy.

If you're good enough you're old enough.

But that's it, we're not sure if he IS good enough - not for a team of our stature, playing Champions League football.

My stance is, if there was no transfer ban in place we should break the bank and go and spend massive on the best striker we could sign and have Tammy as back-up. BUT it looks like the ban WILL be in place as I can't see why we would have extended Giroud's contract otherwise. So on that basis I would let Tammy, Batshuayi and Giroud battle it out for the No.9 shirt and rotate them as form dictates.

Chelsea wants players to extend a contract before sending them out on loan. I wonder if CHO was sitting on 5 years instead of 1 if he would have gone out on loan last season?

I'd like to think no, but with his lack of use through February, I'm just not sure...

Exactly, we don't know if he's good enough, so let's find out. Why does it matter if he's 19 or 20? If he can do it, he can do it. Selling him off before we know what he's capable of handling is the wrong way to treat players, especially players who grew up at your club. If he's sold because we know he can't hack it then great, that's a good choice. That's not what we were referring to, however. IMO the only reason to sell him this summer would be the aforementioned reason. Let's find out who among our gaggle of strikers wants the job before we start shipping them out.

From the times Ive seen him play I dont think he is good enough to play at the top end of the premier league, but we would be pretty stupid not to give him the opportunity next season to prove himself, especially with the transfer ban.

Giroud  who can’t physically last an hour and with 2 league goals as our starter? Unless we are going back to hoofing it upfield he is pointless even as backup for Me.

do we have choice though this year if the ban is in play? Thought he played well last night though.

Maybe not yet, but I'd sure like to see him as a #2 next season getting a lot of the minutes Giroud got this year. Cup games, shirt rest days against lower half of the table teams.

See if he can continue to improve for us.

Yes he grabbed a goal & an assist but will swap instantly for either Lacazette/Aubameyang. He isn’t good enough for a top 4 team.

I think we need to be patient with our young talents and give them time. It involves taking the good and bad; and I would have Tammy start every game ahead of Giroud, the former will only get better.

You see the prices Man Utd are being quoted for Wan Bissaka (allegedly £50m+) and you realise long term we will be better off. Arsenal had Gnabry on their books for a couple of years, and he ended up at Bayern last season. He has now being voted their Player of the Season at 23.

While I agree patience is needed making them all undisputed starters can be counterproductive.

We need the experience as a balance. I would be inclined to start Tammy more when Willian/Pedro start on the flanks and likewise Odoi and Pulisic when Giroud starts.

We can actually now field a properly home grown team of young talents ... 10 English and 1 Welsh (or swap in Billy Gilmour for one of the midfielders if you want a Scot in there as well ? )

In a 4-2-3-1 :

Cumming

James ; Clarke-Salter ; Tomori ; Dasilva

Ampadu ; Chalobah

Loftus-Cheek ; Mount ; Hudson-Odoi

Abraham.

I wonder how they'd get on ?

I'd certainly give Abraham a go ... seems to have good movement to me ... and a knack of being in the right place at the right time.

Defence is a bit dodgy, couldnt play big games with them, city would rip them apart. But midfield/attack looks great, swap Chalobah for Kante, you kante leave Kante out !

Should get the starter position next season.

As I see us playing more with through balls, long balls and more playing game in the air, Abraham and Giroud are great options.

This would be his real chance, he has been working hard, give it to Tammy!

We don't even have a coach yet. How are you thinking we will be playing more through balls?
