I think something needs to change now, we have been struggling for too long. I don't necessarily want to see changes in names, more like changes in tactics / formation.

So I an hearing no Kante nor drinkwater nor baka nor luiz. We have cesc but still have a big fat zero of competent midfield players.

How do you like up with that in mind? Got to go with something completely out of left field for me:

Scott never going to play. Don't let him being a sub in recent games fool you. Even if Luiz and Bakayoko are still injured, he won't play and rightly so. No way near ready and it just shows the crisis in our squad depth really. Drinkwater would be such a useful asset right now.

Maybe not but would he be less useful than cesc?

Ah For f**k sake. I was hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel after our last couple of performances, but now i hear that we've no f**king midfield for the Watford match. No Baka, Kante, Luiz or Drinkwater because of injury. WTF is going on, i know we've been poor, but this is insane, how unlucky can we be with all these injuries.

 

Not very confident about this I'm afraid. Watford are playing very well and we're on a bad run and no midfield for this game. What a shambles.

This match will be won in midfield and Watford will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing us, no midfielders available other than Cesc. Apparently Christensen can play in the middle? And I think Azpilicueta could do a decent job as a ball winning midfielder? He's played on the right midfield before.

With this formation, it'll help us nullify their midfield while also giving us something different compared to 3 at the back. If needed, Christensen could drop into the middle of Cahill and Rudiger to sweep up balls. 

 

 

 

I’m worried about this game.

poor performances in the past 3 games.

no midfield possibly.

andreas in mid would be my best solution.

This is a disaster, if the rumours of Luiz and Bakayoko's injuries are true.

Ironically, the one midfielder who is still fit is the one who is the least versatile of them all.

BTW The match is at 12.30, not 15.00.

I guess if it’s true about Bakayoko and Luiz then it will be the turn of Rudiger or Christensen in midfield, alongside Cesc. Scary stuff. 

we really need a result in his game but they are no mugs with a canny manager. And with a week off too.

Genuinely have no idea what’ll happen.

Couldn't be playing them at a worse time and a worse circumstance. 

I hate to be negative here I really do but I can't see a win here, not even at the Bridge. 

Really poor form of late. Can't say I have much confidence going into this one, but then again, when we reached a low a few weeks back, we bounced right. 

Moving forward however, I don't see any chance of us closing the gap on City. We are just too far back and they are too good!

Good time to get back to winning days, we would move back to top four. The news about Baka and Luiz aren't confirmed and i think both should be fit for Watford. Luiz had a minor knock and should be ready for Luiz, not sure why people think Baka is injured? Hopefully both are fit and ready and we get all the points on Saturday

It is a must win. Conte needs to change something. What we are doing now is not enough. Kante is a big miss but shouldn't be this big.

Hopefully Baka and Luiz are available. If not, Ampadu/Azpi/Christensen to make an appearance at CM?

If I was Conte, I would make a statement vs. Watford.

Rest Luiz & Bakayoko and play Ampadu & Kyle Scott in Midfield alongside Cesc. Failing that, if Christensen can play in the middle, play Clarke-Salter in defence.

These are currently our back-up options, so why not use them?

I think Luiz will be fine played through majority of last season with a knee injury..

Maybe Kenedy in for Alonso who has looked poor recently.

At this stage might even be worth shoving Scott in midfield what's the point in him travelling with the squad otherwise.. moves the ball a lot quicker than our current options in midfield.
