Would be a huge surprise to me if this was something the board pushed through as I said it would be completely out of character. I am sure Drinkwater will be bought at a price closer to 40 million pounds. I would be surprised to see him displacing Fabregas, Bakayoko and Kante regardless of the formation Conte selects if all of them are fit and not suspended.

August 29, 20178 yr Yeah, it's fake. Unless they've somehow managed to transplant Drinkwater's head on Morata's body. Edited August 29, 20178 yr by abramovich

August 29, 20178 yr Will be completely underwhelmed if we sign Drinkwater, especially for anything like as much as £40M. I know we need squad depth & cover but £40M for a very unremarkable player when we have sold a promising youngster, just called up to the England squad for £5M. Just doesn't make any sense.
August 29, 20178 yr Will prove to be a good addition and surprise a few people I think; Cesc struggled for starts because Conte wants more mobility and bite along with the capacity to play the ball, and Drinkwater is more rounded in that regard. Him and Kante compliment each other perfectly, and as a counter-attacking team, his long passing will be valuable.

Putting aside the Drinkwater issue (which by the way you're totally right about), Chalobah was in his last year of his Chelsea contract and despite the reassurances of game play time by Conte, he decided to take his chance elsewhere...it's a shame he left but I applaud him for his courage in doing so...and if it makes you feel better, we did get a buy back and sell on clause inserted into his Watford contract...

Yeah, I know Nat wanted to get regular game time and as you say, fair play to him for taking a step down to get more football. Not sure if it makes me feel any better to know we can buy him back in a season or two for £40M+ when we realise Drinkwater isn't all that.
August 29, 20178 yr Leicester don't want to sell for a low fee one of their better players. Why should they bend over for us because we wanna buy him on the cheap? Smaller clubs don't need the money as much nowadays and therefore can hold out for a higher fee for players they deem as important players.
August 29, 20178 yr I don't trust anyone who can accurately transplant someone's head on a photo but not alter the filter to change the skin colour.

Needs to be remembered that the title winning Leicester team played a counter attacking style of football which was based on getting the ball quickly to their forward players as soon as possible. Think they had one of the lowest possessions in the league. We will only play that style of football against 5 teams in the league.

Not beyond the realms of possibility. They badly need some bite in midfield with a couple of ballet dancers like Ozil and Xhaka in the team.

August 30, 20178 yr Saw this elsewhere... Danny Drinkwater is not good enough.... FACT - 10 midfielders who are all better: 1. Daniele Bere-acqua 2. Daniel Getränkwasser 3. Danilo Beberagua 4. Dong Hē-Shuǐ 5. Danislav Picèvodavic 6. Dzknijcel Pijwodęski 7. Danny Drikvandsen 8. Danyal Al-Shurbma 9. Daniel Muomi And even the Indian... 10. Dhoni Paanipien Well... Maybe not him. :) (Made me laugh a bit anyway.)
