April 9, 20197 yr it must be pretty grim in Drinkwater's situation. forget the money for a moment, what motivates the guy to even get up in the morning? we should get him out somewhere where he can get a game

April 9, 20197 yr Absolute vile example of a human, people who drink drive should be banned for life no exceptions.
May 13, 20197 yr Banned for 20 months and given 70 hours CS https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/may/13/chelsea-footballer-danny-drinkwater-admits-drink-driving Idiota

May 13, 20197 yr Not strong enough punishment imo. The severity of any punishment is cushioned by wealth, only the non rich feel the severity of drink drive sentences. Danny can afford the fine, the cost of damages, a £40k chauffeur, and a new Range Rover, and the increased premiums. And on top of all that he still keeps his job and contract.
May 13, 20197 yr Weird is he can afford the taxi. Pretty easy to call one. No excuses. Hope he finds a new club soon.

I know what you mean but the 70 hours community service will make him think.
May 13, 20197 yr It stinks really. He's not thinking straight. In all likelihood he is a budding alcoholic who thinks he's above the law. Hopefully he sorts his life out and finds another club. We will probably have to accept a loss on his fee.

Big reach that - I don't think that (as far as we know) going out on the piss once and doing something stupid necessarily means you're an alcoholic. If it does, God knows what that makes me...

If it does, God knows what that makes me... I didn't say he was an alcoholic. A "budding" alcoholic. I'm not usually so judgemental but the bloke gets paid a fortune and can't get home after a night on the sauce without getting knicked and risking other peoples lives. Lets just say he has a drink problem if drink is effecting how he leads his life.
May 13, 20197 yr Barely played in 2 years, unmotivated, unprofessional. I think our £40m man is finished and can't be moved on for the next 3 years... Edited May 13, 20197 yr by sonic90

Matic, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek, they were let go and we were left with Fabregas, Kante and Bakayoko as our only options. Then we got desperate because we couldn't sign junk like Oxlade-Chamberlain so we signed Drinkwater instead. That transfer window was a farce. If ever we needed proof that we need better people in charge of our transfer activities, it was that transfer window.

May 14, 20197 yr We need to sell him for his sake. Please move him on so he can move on with his life instead of rotting in the reserves collecting paychecks. He is good enough for midtable teams still!

Even if you are just offered a drink, you don't get behind the wheel after having that much. What is that, like 5 pints?
