Rudiger still looks like he gets nervous, Luiz is incredibly confident. Maybe Luiz is too confident. It's ok to trust your own abilities, but he has been so casual and laid back with his football this season, it's bought the worst out of him again. Last season he looked really focused, this season he is the opposite of focused. I hate it when he charges out of position, it messes up the shape of our defence when he does that.
November 1, 20178 yr 9 hours ago, Slojo said: Hazard will probably be taken out of the game again like last time, and today he really looked mentally/physically damaged after that knock, completely different player after it. I can't fault too much of the back 3 at the moment, I would trust in Luiz more than I would Rudiger at this very moment though. Rudiger still looks like he gets nervous, Luiz is incredibly confident. Personally I would no take the opportunity to move Christensen into the defence permanently. Luiz has reverted to type this season with his defending, Andreas on the other hand is at an age were he will now improve with more games and needs to be trusted as the no 1. The jury is still out about Rudiger, I'll be honest I wasn't keen on signing him purely based on appearances for Germany which may be unfair, I think like Luiz he has a mistake in him which sets the players at the very top apart.
November 1, 20178 yr jose is smelling blood of a wounded prey and he's coming for the kill. and so is this manchester c**t anthony taylor who'll referee the game
November 1, 20178 yr Come on guys just twat them! It's the least they deserve. I'm not a Chelsea fan but I rather you win than that boring park the bus dinosaur football team.(if they can call it football)
November 1, 20178 yr i don't think utd will press us and try attack us, they will sit back more and let us pass the ball around, make mistakes and hope to capitalise like they have done in most their games this season. we are going to have to be clinical in this game because i don't think we'll get many chances.
November 1, 20178 yr I hope we stay away from a back 4, we've built this squad for a back three and have the personnel to suit. I'd like to see: Tbo Azpi Andreas Rudiger Luiz Zappa Kante Drinkwater Alonso Eden Morata

Hopefully DD or Kante is back.
November 1, 20178 yr Tibo Azpi-------------Christensen------------Rudiger Sterling----Kante/Ampadu----Drinkwater/Baka----Kennedy --------------------------Hazard/Cesc--------------- ----------------Morata---------------Batman Jose would not see that coming!
November 1, 20178 yr Jose these days never changes thing's when it's proven to work. By that, i mean i would be amazed if he doesn't use the same approach he did at Old Trafford in April, question is will Conte learn from that game and make the necessary adjustments?

You forgot the own goal, penalty or red card that will be in their favour. I am dredding this match. ESPECIALLY THE THOUGHT OF MOURINHO LEAVING STAMFORD BRIDGE WITH A SMILE ON HIS SMUG FACE
November 1, 20178 yr Tibo Azpi Luiz Rudiger Zappa Kante Drinky Baka Alonso Hazard Morata That is my desired lineup. Drinkwater can play either behind Baka and Kante or in front, depending on how we want to play. Bakayoko more of a b2b and Kante just run around like a chicken with his head cutoff ( ) as he usually does. I suspect they will try and man mark Hazard out of the game like last year, we are going to need to rely heavily on wingbacks and the midfield three being more creative than recent times. If we fall behind we can get the likes of Fabregas and Pedro on for more direct play. Morata must show me something this game!
November 1, 20178 yr Thibaut Azpi Luiz Rudiger Alonso Kante Fabregas Drinkwater Pedro Morata Hazard I don't trust Bakayoko.
November 1, 20178 yr I do like the idea of Morata and Hazard up front in a 2 man attack. I think the wide players and overlapping fullbacks have become too predictable. Teams just sit in the box and we can't break them down, or we put in crosses and there's no one there. I can't see Conte breaking from the back 3 though, so I'm thinking we may go more with a 3-5-2 I know Cahill gets a load of stick, but I think with Kante back in the team, Cahill will remain. That's not necessarily what I want, but it is what I expect. I also think that we still need creativity in the middle, and if we did go to a 5 man midfield, then Cesc could remain part of that with 2 of either Drinkwater, Baka, or Kante in there with him. That would at least relieve him of some of his defensive duties, and free him up for some passing to Morata and Hazard. I also think that a middle 3 of Kante, Drinkwater, and Baka could be a little too athletic at teh expense of creativity. If chasing the game, I think the shape would need to change, and Cesc would be taken off and someone like Pedro or WIllian put on to support Hazard and Morata in a 3-4-3. Or, you take Cesc off along with say Zappacosta, and bring on a defender and attacker for a 4-3-3. I think we will line up like this on Sunday: Courtois Azpilicueta Luiz Christensen Zappa Kante Baka Alonso Fabregas Hazard Morata

I don't think Conte will Argo its obvious he didn't learn nothing from the first game against Roma and we all saw how that ended last night...
November 1, 20178 yr We will play like Champions..................or get a sh*t show. I'm really not sure but given our recent performances and team selection I sadly might be leaning towards the latter

ESPECIALLY THE THOUGHT OF MOURINHO LEAVING STAMFORD BRIDGE WITH A SMILE ON HIS SMUG FACE I'm making sure I have many a beer before getting in the bridge on sunday just to numb the pain. One thing we do need is a big performance from the crowd!!!
November 2, 20178 yr Prior to the 3-0 defeat to Roma, our heaviest loss was 0-3 against Arsenal last season. After that, it was a change of formation at Hull, with Ivanovic being dropped in favour of a back three. The rest is history with the team going on a 13 match unbeaten run. What is interesting was Conte's comments after the Arsenal game."I think that we didn't have the right attitude from the first minute.....when nothing works, it is hard for a player to play well. We win and lose as a team. We have not got the right balance and now is the moment to consider everything." Not dissimilar to what he said after the Roma game? What it shows is that these players, when faced with a problem, and no doubt an almighty bollocking, can react in the right way. Just two games after the Hull win, we faced United at the Bridge and pissed all over them. I wouldn't mind lightning striking twice!
November 2, 20178 yr Kante is back. That is a huge boost. Maybe Conte will try another type of formation here as well. Not huge amount of time to prepare but should be sufficient.I think we will do well here and put the rumours to bed for a while.
November 2, 20178 yr Probably the least concerned about a game I've been all season. We'll win this, no doubt about it.

November 2, 20178 yr Why is there so much negativity towards Baka on here lately? We haven't been great in midfield, but Bakayoko is a box to box player who's had to carry cesc's tired legs on his back for the duration of Kante's injury. I think he's been good for us though, largely, just a few disciplinary issues that need to be weeded out. my lineup would be as follows Tibo Dave Luiz Christensen Zappa Kante Drinkwater Alonso Bakayoko Morata Hazard 3-5-1-1 with hazard in the free role behind Morata, Bakayoko at the tip of midfield for his driving runs and energy, Kante cleaning up and Drinkwater staying deep and spraying passes.
November 2, 20178 yr With JM needing to appear in front of the Spanish tax authorities and being away at SB, I would think that gives us the edge. Of course if we need to play Fab in a midfield two that advantage is lost.
November 2, 20178 yr Herrara will pocket Hazard again and will be hailed as the greatest defensive midfielder in the world.
November 2, 20178 yr I am hoping the players, whoever starts will be massively up for this after the clusterf**k in Rome this week. We desperately need a good confident performance! I just cant bear the thought of the papers on monday morning hailing Mourinho, Matic and 'I'll kiss the scum badge after a couple of games' Lukaku! We need a win on sunday....
