If Pulisic does that against even Cheaterfield he'd get a 10 page eulogy. Maybe from our US contingent...he's become a bust for a majority of his time at CFC so far.....either we have bought some God awful players recently or our managers have been questionable....I think I go with the player option, and while CHO has been here a while there has been little to no improvement....but at least he didn't cost anything compared to the others.
December 30, 20214 yr Perhaps we can bring in Doctor Sharon Fieldstone from AFC Richmond to help get CHO's head straight ?

Granted, he's rarely fit and most times gets re-injured before he can regain his form but I'd take Captain America over Callum every time, if I had to choose. Puli's no wing back or false nine, where he's forced to play recently due to the squad problems, that's true, but I've seen enough of him in the past (last CL campaign, for example) to feel that if it wasn't for his fitness issues he could have bad a brilliant career at the club. The restart period? I'll give you that is better than anything Callum has done. Since then it's not a contest. Not saying Callum has been particularly great (although he does usually have strong creative metrics) but I think people are sleeping on just how awful Pulisic has been since the start of last season, I have joked about him being the American Iwobi but he really hasn't been that far off.

December 30, 20214 yr I don't know how many of you all that caught COVID, but playing two matches in several days after just recovering from COVID, shouldn't be forgotten how truly difficult that really is. I had it in February and it wasn't a bad case, but I would get winded walking up my stairs or taking my dogs around the block. That was after I recovered, not while I was sick. It took me a good while to just have mental clarity as well. I was incredibly forgetful and had a serious mental fog. I imagine that CHO and the other lads are experiencing the same. Let's cut them some slack, ya? Havertz said last year that it took him a long time to recover, and here he is again recovering from it. These guys aren't machines, nor are they little computer guys on your tv screen. Edited December 30, 20214 yr by chiefBlueCFC

December 30, 20214 yr As far as I'm concerned CHO should be at best a sub ,every year we keep on thinking the following year is when we see the star we all first thought he would be,I don't want to see him ever start a match again when we have a full squad.

VAR failed us twice then, also with the clear pen on Pulisic. Really is maddening neither CHO or Mount even appealed for that handball.

December 30, 20214 yr Where in the flying f**k was the linesman? He would have had to have been near where they were to make an offsides decision, and how he could not have seen such an obvious handball is beyond mindboggling!
December 30, 20214 yr Though I agree with axman, Mount should have gone absolutely bonkers to force (hopefully) the VAR ref to take a look. Hell, he should have instructed his teammates to foul a player and/or kick the ball into touch, to stop play temporarily. To not to have done that shows football ignorance on Mount’s part imo.

It didn't get noticed and it was ignored because his arm is in his natural position anyway. It takes skill to pass to Mount without getting blocked and sadly CHO didn't do well enough there, nor was he that particularly good throughout the match if you ask me...
December 30, 20214 yr We must Be seeing two parts of The elephant , because the defender to me appears to be acting like a baseball shortstop grabbing a ground ball. No way is that a natural position, unless he is playing baseball.

No rolling around after a crunching tackle and they didn't even get paid very much. But as we are comparing wingers, Eddie Gray was brilliant for Leeds in both finals and he got clobbered more than a few times, got up and got on with it...unlike todays generation....maybe CHO should watch a few clips of Gray, Best, Cooke and others as to how to take full backs on and beat them. But they won't. Wrong attitude nowadays.
January 12, 20224 yr Watching Vinícius Jr starring for Madrid against Barca on the Supercup now before our game is one of the reasons I haven't given up on CHO or Pulisic yet. On one hand it makes me feel bad about their output, but I'll keep trusting that they'll eventually hit a stride and produce consistently as at some point Vini Jr was criticized even by Benzema, so here's hoping CHO has a great game today!
January 13, 20224 yr Odoi needs to step up. People here are blaming Kai, werner or Romelu. Odoi can’t get pass his defenders even the small team. If there is a defender in front of him … he will pass to the back and there go our fast attack. He is a winger that act like a striker wanting ball to shoot but can’t keep a cool head finishing.people like him because he is from chelsea youth team. ziyech and mount have bad decision making. They shoot when they have pass and pass when the forward is guarded. when this problem is not solved we won’t score a lot.

Actually I see some similarities between Callum and pre this season Vinicius. Intelligent decision making but often lacks composure.

He also looks terrified of actually taking someone on though. I actually have no idea what he was doing yesterday. Had tons of opportunities to run at his fullback and create something but decided to turn backwards and pass to Sarr or Kovacic every single time. Really frustrating and he will need to go up several levels if he's going to make it here. Everyone have wanted him to get an extended run in his favored position and he's had that this season. And overall he's been a bit disappointing again you would have to say.

I thought he was very good in the Autumn period, he was for me one of our best players during our best form (performance wise) for quite a while. One thing I can't defend him on is his finishing, it has been awful and needs serious work but general decision making i personally think he's ahead of many of his peers (including the United version of Sancho), even THAT one against Brighton would have found it's way neatly to Mount without an illegal intervention. January 14, 20224 yr How much speed has he lost following his injury ? I was reading something today about Conor Gallagher, and who he thought was the fastest player he'd played with. He went for Lamptey, just ahead of CHO, but when I've seen them, I get the impression that if they ran the 100, then Lamptey would take CHO by about 20 yards LOL. If he's down on his pace, it might be affecting his confidence in beating his man ?

If he's down on his pace, it might be affecting his confidence in beating his man ? A complicating factor in sprinting speed is distance, indoor 60m sprint champions rarely figure in the 100m sprint. I guess 60m would be the better distance as sprints are rarely the whole pitch.
January 18, 20224 yr He’s not good enough. It’s time we start being realistic, send him out on loan and see how he develops. Right now, he is nowhere near Chelsea standard.
