Welcome Ross Barkley

I guess he realised his season was over due to being ineligible to play against us so fair enough having a drink yet needing to be escorted out and then struggling to stand up is not a good look.

That's probably a million off any club wanting to sign him.

Just sums up why very top level football is not for Ross.

Shows flashes of brilliance but always destined to end up at a mid-table club.

I dont see anyone buying him off us though, another loan most likely. He wont leave Chelsea because of the wages he is on.

I just hope he doesn't go down a downward spiral after he retires. The only thing stop this man from being a full blown alcoholic is his football career.

To be fair he probably parties as much as the next lad, Grealish, Maddison etc. probably get up to no good during the downtimes but you don't hear about it until they crash a car or get into a drunken fight.

He stayed fit for us and apart from some stupid decisions on the pitch, he was quite professional. I think we should keep him in the squad for next season.

Can't believe no one wants Ross Barkley on loan.. He isn't that bad and could actually be useful for us if we ever switched to a 433..

Even Arsenal didn't ask about him 😮 but as you said he really isn't that bad.....so where does he end up this season?

I am shocked. The second half of the season did not fare so well for him at Villa but first half of the season he was brilliant and looked in line for an England recall. I remember when Villa battered Arsenal 3-0 away from home last season, he completed bossed that game. Scored a fantastic goal at Leciester too and showed he is good enough for majority of teams in the Prem. The high wages put teams off but even if some teams offered to pay half his wages, surely we would would have agreed.

When Drinkwater can get a club but you can't... Ouch.

Unless he moves to a club in Turkey he's going to be kicking his heels with the development squad until the new year.

Those transfer windows under Conte were mostly f**king abysmal. Luiz, Barkley, Emerson, Zappacosta, Bakayoko, Morata, Drinkwater, Batshuayi. Lol

Luiz was quality in that title winning season. Playing in the middle of a back 3 played to all his strengths and covered for his weakness.

Granted most didn't work out, but it wasn't too bad on paper LOL.  You have to give the positives as well as the negatives for the Conte-era signings, and certainly Alonso, Rudiger and Kante haven't turned out too shabby LOL. Just a shame about most of the rest 🙂

The signs have showed the board learned from this. Nowadays we don't buy backup players or 3rd options.

Russia is an option until the 7th too.

I see Sarr and Baker got a squad number now as well. Good for them, hopefully they get some decent playing time and contribute to the team.
