Apparently in discussions with Atletico over a loan move according to a few places.

Seen a suggestion of €9m loan fee with an option to buy in the summer.

Far too often do we find ourselves in this situation with our strikers... can’t think of another club that’s had our track record with big name forwards.

If Morata does get sold to Atlético, I’m curious as to how their fans would react.  If I remember correctly, they gave him a hard time when we went there in the CL last season, especially when he celebrated his goal.

We all hated Mark Hughes when he was at United, loved him when he was at Chelsea since when he has returned to pen!s status during his managerial career.

Not for me he isn't. I could never lose respect for the hardest player I have ever seen wear a Chelsea shirt, and I include Ron Harris, Joey Jones and JT in that.

Hughesie's ability to hold the ball up was astonishing. Christ what a difference he would make if we could put him up front for us now.

Morata probably will do well in Spanish football... Get him over there now.

Give it a couple of weeks and A.Madrid are all hyped up about Morata, we put in a cheeky 15m offer for Costa offering reduced price for Morata...

Certainly irony yet what is it with Costa, can't sit still for long it seems.

Gossip columns are saying that this is progressing but AM may need to offload somewhere to make space. Angel Correa maybe coming the other way. Not as first choice of course but could sweeten the deal perhaps

He was a beast, must have been a nightmare to play against him as a centre back. He was also a massive Chelsea fan from when he was a kid.

Not really sold on correa. He had a lot of hype and then missed a season after he had heart surgery, and I think he has failed to get the momentum back since then. Also I don't think he can play up top on his own in the premier league, so he would be another option for the wings, but I'm not convinced he is better than what we have.

If Higuain gets done today, does he play on Saturday?

50M€ for Morata (if he can lace his own boots in Madrid)

Excellent, should definitely confirm Higuain then. Hopefully, the Paredes deal is close, I haven't seen anything on Sky or BBC about it yet though. 

I wonder what the price will be at the end of loan? Hopefully we get a decent fee. 

He's been a bit of a disaster, he has ability, and he can score a decent amount of goals, but not enough to make up for the big misses, the lack of fight, and attitude. 

I thought he would be a fantastic signing for us. I've been proved wrong in the end.

I've seen £45m quoted. Assuming we've asked for a loan fee for something like £5m we'll have recouped most of our money which considering how poorly Morata has performed over the last 18 months would be good going.

So about a £10m total loss on morata and bakayoko. That's a pretty decent outcome, I'm expecting a bigger hit on drinkwater. 

It really was a terrible summer. 

Just hope we reinvest the money in quality players that at least fit whatever it is the club is trying to do in the next 5 years. 

Hopefully he can find some peace and start playing well again, he's had a torrid time with us but it hasn't been all his fault, yes he's missed a few howlers, which strikers haven't? but our team and style doesn't play to his strengths which is running on the ball rather receiving it at his feet while he is static and holding it up; in addition we piss around the 18 yard box for ever.   Anyway wish him luck and hope our new striker has better luck.

Think you're being very kind to him there - I wouldn't be so understanding. Players have to adapt and he has been nothing but a massive disappointment with a very poor attitude. Will honestly be glad to see the back of him.
